My Path to a Healthier Life

I joined SparkPeople just a little over four years ago. I've gained and lost and lost and gained the same 20 lbs. several times now. Depressing as that sounds, I am not deterred. In the last three and a half months, I have lost 30 pounds...more than I have at any one time since joining Sparks. I plan to go all the way now. By planning and food tracking and being prepared to just keep going even when I have a small setback. I will not let a miss-step keep me from getting right back on ...

I am hopeful of reaching my goals for the first time in 4 years. I now realize that eating well is not only good for my diet, but very good for my health. I knew that, of course I did. But now I feel that. I feel healthier. That more than anything else is helping me stay on track.

This time is different.

So...I am recommitting to me, for me. I am saying that I am important enough to MY life to do this for me. I am worth it...I am!

I don't really have a goal weight...I don't really care to be a certain size...I just want to be healthy enough to enjoy an active lifestyle for the second half of my life. I will do this!

And I will always be grateful for the wonderful environment SparkPeople provides each of us with so that we may be successful in all of our goals, whatever they may be. Thank You SparkPeople! Thank you spark people for the support...a soft place to fall...my sanctuary when my life is stressful...all of those things and more...THANK YOU!

My Goals:
I truely want only to be healthy and have the energy that will help me maintain my active lifestyle! The weight is secondary!

My Program:
I am tracking my food daily...I did that before joining SparkPeople, and have found this to be what keeps me on track. I was having trouble adding exercise on a consistant basis...and this site has really been a motivation for me to keep exercise on my daily schedule...I am so thankful I found it!!

Chris, just use any lower sodium broth or make your own and you know what spice will give a lift. I'm sure it will be very good....I've had your cooking!

I am four pounds down today (from my recent weight gain) and I haven't even been very strict on this. emoticon
