My Life

I am a grandma who decided I wanted to sit on the floor and play with my first grandchild. But I couldn't. So I started going to the gym, signed up with a personal trainer, and eating better. Over the last 18 months, I lost 50 pounds!
But I'm getting a little stuck, so I came here for more support and motivation to lose another 50 pounds in the end. And I've made it to "onderland" with the BLC.

I love lighthouses and how they combine the practical job of guiding ships to shore, they are inspirational to me. I love to think of their light showing me the rocks and shoals that will keep me from my goal of a healthy life.

1st 10 day challenge: no sweets, done May

2nd 10 day challenge: no fried foods, done May 2011.

3rd 10 day challenge: no cleaning my plate, done June 2011

4th 10 day challenge: 15 minute exercise every day, done June 2011

5th 10 day challenge: no eating between meals, done June 2011

6th 10 day challenge: smart food choices, done July 2011

7th 10 day challenge: start blogging, leave food on my plate, repeat my mantras: I am fit, I am a small person who needs small amounts of food, food is fuel.

My Program:
Goals for BLC:
run 3 days/week, total 8-10 miles
cross training or ST 4 days/week, min. of 15 minutes every day

Track food every day

Eat only at the table.

Participate in all challenges

Lose 15 pounds during BLC 21.


Changing my food choices in a permanent way, realizing that food is fuel, not a crutch.

Realizing I am strong, I am fit, I am healthy.

Personal Information:
Living in the greater Sacramento area, near my mom & my sister

4 kids spread around the west, with 5 fabulous
grandchildren so far

Happy Belated Birthday, Sagittarius Girl. The Sag girl wanted to be like her dad, so she is a Tomboy at heart, who loves being outside and taking care of animals. She doesn't make a good stay-at-home-Mom type since she is to much of a scholar for boring routine. She makes a wonderful teacher, lawyer, vet, Professor or exercise instructor. Yes, that Sag girl is a born athlete, but she can have a weight issue as Jupiter expands all things and she can enjoy to much of anything including food and drink. She has a blunt mouth, so don't ask her opinion unless you are willing to hear the truth. She is never vindictive and when she is mad, you will know it and then she gets over it. Unlike Scorpio, she doesn't deal in Secrets, but is upfront in all she does. She loves to shop, but she will work and make more money tomorrow. She loves to buy gifts. For her the glass is always half full. Her health issue can be around her hips and groin. She gets along well with Libra, Gemini, Aries, Aquarius and Leo.

Rules for a "Spark"ling Day


1. Wake Up !! Make the choice to have a good day and live a healthier lifestyle!

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

3 . Learn!! Read as much as you can and gain knowledge about living a healthier lifestyle!

4. Stand Up!!..... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.

5. Look Up !!.. to your next goal and reward. What do you need to do in order to meet or exceed that goal?

6. Reach Out !!... by encouraging others and being supportive in their times of need.

7. Lift Up !!.. Your spirit....as this journey is not only about your body and weight loss but the changes with your mind and soul too!
