Hello and welcome to my page. I started out here on SP weighing 210 in September 2011. I wanted to lose 60 in a year. Well I lost 20 pounds by the end of 2011 with adding exercising, eating more fruits, vegetables and eating way less fast food. By changing how and what I eat I have gone on to lose over 50 pounds by Aug. 2016.

I am married to a very supportive man who is also losing weight and with his help I think I can do this. I love to cook and he inspires me to make low cal meals.

I challenge myself to make better choices to become stronger healthier and a better person. I find that pushing myself to be healthier every day is practical. I use steaks to motivate myself and count my calories.

I have learned to love exercising. I walk most every day. I like joining exercise challenges and testing myself to be stronger and healthier

I look forward to learning more things every year to be a good role model to others on this journey.

June 3, 2016 hubby fall and broke his neck, with the stress of him being in the hospital and care homes I put back on 10 pounds but am taking it off slowly

    Hello, my friend,
That quote is totally emoticon emoticon
You certainly are right about the caretaker or anyone else with negative vibes.
Oh, Ron's fall was very scary. Did you get hurt? You received all his weight and crash. emoticon Hope you're feeling well from the fall. Glad the shingles are almost over! The worst part is when they're at their most painful state.

Did some gardening today. I keep promising myself not to do that anymore, but somehow I get carried away. Very similar to the healthy lifestyle journey we are living emoticon

Now, that's a good repairing rest! I'm glad the cleaning and de-cluttering bug has got into you. Remember, as an encouraging thought, all those things burn extra calories emoticon Every time I have to hang out my clothes and wash a lot of dishes, pots and pans, it's like a workout! Have fun in your out time.
So let's believe in ourselves and emoticon through this journey!

Thank you for your nice comments on the photos and for swiftly pushing me to update them.
How are you doing today? Did you go to the doctor's appointment?
De-cluttering is always awesome. It is kind of like losing weight, hard to do but once it's over you feel super! Glad Ron got his speakers back.
That plant, yes, it is an ornamental pineapple (bromeliad). It's the first time I see it give the fruit.

Oh, gosh, shingles are really a pain! Glad a doctor will see you. I know there are good meds to shorten its period of acting up and makes them dried up quicker. Let me know how it goes.

Kathryn, nice to hear from you! My daughter is allergic to latex too and she gets in real trouble if she wears them. The alternative is the ones made of vinyl, maybe if you ask for them, they can change them and send those. Hope it is that what's causing you trouble and you get well soon.
Glad you've been going out! It's better to piggy out after long walks that without them. That's for sure. A new fresh start! emoticon Have you ever considered maintaining? I think you look great. I don't know what the doctor's suggest, but sounds like something positively good for a change.
Our volcano, the big mountain where we live is actually a big volcano, has become pretty active. We get to see eruptions constantly. So far so good since all the material goes to other places (not that I like other people being affected).
    Hoping for a lovely weekend!
