I have exercised fairly regularly during various periods of my life, but let things slip when I started working outside the home about 7 years ago. I have exercised fairly regularly during various periods of my life, but let things slip when I started working outside the home about 7 years ago. The result is that I gained weight, lost muscle tone and energy. I felt terrible and thought it was a natural part of energy but was still seeking an answer to the "yucky" feeling I had about myself. After being on Sparkpeople since February 2008, I have realized that exercising and eating clean isn't just something I SHOULD do, but it is ESSENTIAL to my health, especially as I get older! I also trying to teach my two daughters, 15 & 17 about the importance of a healthy lifestyle by: - serving at least 2 fruits/veggies at dinner - not eating when bored or past 8pm - encouraging them to drink water, not pop - if they want a snack - have plenty of healthy choices available and offering those (but not getting upset when they want a cookie) - encouraging family activities & having fun together(i.e., walking, biking, volleyball, golf, swimming) - letting them see my commitment to working out at home and encouraging them to join me if they'd like Thanks to my husband who is very supportive of the changes I am making! He's always encouraging me when he sees me working out - not for his benefit but for mine. Thanks to God for being a wonderful Lord and Savior - as well as giving us all of these wonderful fruits & veggies to eat.

I'm working hard with P57 and really enjoying the challenge! I love walking with my dogs - especially Abbie, my Cairn terrier mixed breed, who is a great pace-setter!
