Losing Weight Without Making Myself Crazy

Hi there! I'm 34 years old and I live near NYC in the suburbs. My passions are traveling, making people laugh, also my family and my friends.

I'm trying to lose 5 pounds per month by cutting calories and increasing exercise. I'm here for permanent weight loss, not rapid weight loss.

My wonderful husband GREGORYCOLE is also a Spark member. He is my greatest supporter in my journey to good health! We're in this together.

My Goals:
My immediate goal is to reduce my BMI until I am no longer obese.

My Program:
1. Eat within my calorie goals and the macronutrient ranges that Spark recommends for me.

1a. Slow down and savor my food! Eat each bite carefully and mindfully.

2. 180 minutes of cardio per week with 3 strength training sessions and 60 minutes of yoga/stretching.


Personal Information:
I live in the suburbs near NYC.

I have a boyfriend who also has a Spark account but he's not quite as active on here as I am.

I don't have any kids but I do have 2 adorable cats named Chuchi and Wiggy.

Other Information:
I'm Jewish but mostly non-practicing. Politically I am a feminist.

hiya! I have no idea how long I can plank now. Probably like 30 seconds, lol! I'd have to do it NOT after having just done other exercise to really know. I'll try to get around to trying that some time.
I also kind of think I may have been hunching my shoulders wrong when I did them before, POSSIBLY slightly cheating, on accident. Will never know!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I haven't really gotten much out of her in terms of Nutrition. She never really wanted me to give her a food log or anything, which I think would be the way that could help, and I think at this point I already know the foods I SHOULDN'T be eating anymore, etc. Whatever else I don't know I don't know how to ask her so, again, I think the food log idea would be the only real way to get at that. Maybe I'll bring that up today as an idea....

Seriously, it's the most excited I've been about a resource in a while!! SUPER inspiring. I love that blog.

There is also this cool free PDF of a cookbook a nutritionist student wrote for people who are on food assistance benefits, called "Good and Cheap". I haven't tried anything out of it yet but also looks like a really good resource! I should post a blog with that one on it, soon, this will probably be redundant for you soon, haha. Check it out!

Budget on food is a big thing I need to work on. I get the impression I'm very much not alone in that these days!
