1/2016: UPDATE
Baby #12 is now 2 1/2 with NO pregnancy in sight. We all have seasons and it seems that my childbearing season is closing. I am perfectly okay with that. I am also perfectly okay with having another...if that's God's Will. My 2nd daughter is getting married in May so maybe I'll have a grandbaby in the next couple of years. That might help fix my baby needs.
Currently, I am about 10 lbs heavier than my 'goal' weight but I'm dealing with that. I was diagnosed last March with hypothyroid and then in October of '15 with (mild) adrenal fatigue. Hopefully, that explains the weight gain including the fat rolls around the middle and lower back. THAT part is totally new for me! I've had excess skin on my belly (totally expected after this many pregnancies) but never real FAT! UGH! Anyway, my chiro is working with me on healing the adrenal fatigue and I'm seeing positive results already. Now, to just take it easy awhile longer (she said NO RUNNING but I've compromised with LESS running and I'm including walk breaks regularly through my runs.) and let my body heal. About 6 weeks ago I started lifting weights 2x per week and I am LOVING that! I can see changes including increased strength and some muscles peeking through my fluffy blanket.
Trim Healthy Mama is still my eating plan but I'm tweaking it to add more carbs per Tammy (sweet friend who is willing to help me). So, no high glycemic foods/sugar/processed... but, loads of veggies , meat, complex carbs !!
Hopefully, I'll have some weight loss progress to report some day... in the meantime, I'm measuring inches once per month and focusing on healing the inside of me so my body can take care of the rest .

Another update!!! Baby is now 19 months and the light (one of them) of our lives!! I shed all the pregnancy weight by the time he was 6.5 months and then have maintained, for the most part, til the past couple of months. I need to watch what is going in my mouth... not sure if there are tweaks to be made or my age is forcing that on me. :)
I ran two half marathons this year: one in August and I PR'd!! Less than 2 hr finish time and I was so very happy. I had trained very hard and even though there were LOTS of HILLS!! (oh, dear~~the hills!) I still did super well. The second was with friends in Chicago and that wasn't as fast. The lack of sleep the night before, lack of water and proper food the day before all added in, I have no doubt. Doesn't really matter b/c I got to spend quality time with two girlfriends that have been friends since we were 10 yrs old!
This winter now I'm planning on doing an occasion 5k (10 k on Thanksgiving) and working on HIIT workouts to burn these extra 5-7 lbs. I've got my eyes on that same August half and I plan on kicking those hills right in the backside and PRing again.
Update:(9/25/12)
Another sprout has 'sprouted'!!!!! I'm due the middle of April. I'm feeling pretty good now,though the weeks between 6-10 were all.day.nausea. I've eaten way too much junk food just to try and feel better. sometimes it helped, others it made the icky feeling worse. I'm still running 3-4 days a week but won't be doing any major mileage(above 7-8 miles) til after baby arrives.
I'm trying to recommit to healthy eating and wise portions so that I won't continue to gain excess weight. The last pregnancy I felt awesome and gained only 24 lbs with just 3 the first trimester. Here I am at 11 weeks along and though I haven't been on the scale in about 8 weeks, I'm quite sure that I'm way past 3 lb gain. My belly is protruding more than any of the others and the way I feel so 'heavy' in the uterus, trouble falling asleep and feeling 'full' easily, I wonder if little one has a roommate in there. Time and ultrasound will tell~~~

Update (10-24-11)

Still a mother of 11(no new ones on the way) but I'm 42 now. I feel like I'm just treading water with occasional dunkings of bad eating. I had wonderful success with clean eating(see blog post from July) but got off the wagon somehow,can't run b/c of muscle injuries. No, there's no good reasons but I keep telling myself,"when I run again, I'll be able to get leaner again." Since nutritiion is 80% of the game, I should be plenty thin right now. I feel fluffy and my momma tummy is always the first sign that I'm eating the wrong foods and too much of them.
I want to get leaner and stronger so when I can run, I'll be ready. I am lifting weights 3x a week using workouts by Turbulence Training. Also, I have to go to PT 3x a week so I do exercises there for my glutes and core. I'm supposed to do those daily but they get pushed to the wayside with my 'life'.
No more excuses~it's time for ME to get back on the plan!

I'm a 41 yr old mom of 11 and looking to eat healthy, get slimmer and stay that way! In the past 16 years, I've gained over 380 lbs and lost all but 18!!! I refuse to let myself go and I will not buy bigger clothes. However, with the climbing of my years, it's harder and harder and I am thrilled to find Sparkpeople for tracking my food and for motivation from all of you!!

(9/8/09) Just an update-I'm still 40, I'm 2 lbs away from my goal. I have been running and cycling(alternate days) all summer. I didn't lose any weight between May and August! A SP friend told me about the Blood type diet and being an O type, I have avoided wheat and dairy for the most part. I lost 6lbs in 4 weeks!!! I ate lots of veggies and fruit and lean fish and chicken. I'm trying to incorporate spelt flour into my baking now so I can eat some whole grains.

I'm planning on staying on this way of eating forever-as long as my belly's not bothered and I'm keeping the weight off. I look forward to going into menopause healthy and fit!
9-28-09 UPDATE: I'm 10 weeks pregnant. Still running and looking forward to running thru the pregnancy. Running seems to keep the nausea at bay and I'm all over that!
I've gained back about 4 lbs after losing the 6lb in August. I hope to keep my weight gain to a max of 30 lbs but would love just 25lbs. It gets harder and harder as the years go by to lose the baby weight. I am committed to staying healthy and eating good food. It's hard right now b/c of this awful taste in my mouth-good food doesn't taste good. I'm trying,though. Trying to limit portions and not snack too much.
Update 4/28/10: After a fantastic pregnancy of running, eating healthy and feeling great,I gained only 24 lbs and delivered a healthy baby boy who weighed 7 # 4oz and was 20.5 inches. Now, my scale says 146 lbs so 10lb to lose and about one more to get to goal of 135. I haven't started back running yet, but I have been walking and plan on trying to run very soon.

I need to lose approx. 8 lbs and then learn to maintain.


My Program:
Eating lots of fruits/veggies. Lean chicken and fish and turkey. Quinoa,oatmeal,egg whites.
Back to running 3x/week,walking 2-3x and ST 3x week.
