I am trying to make some big changes -- reducing and removing wheat, sugar, and animal foods from my diet. I do eat organic and local but am moving towards a vegan lifestyle and have about 50 pounds I want to lose too. I live in the beautiful Pacific NW so there are plenty of fun activities here so I can mix up my exercising.

My Goals:
I would like to lose at least 50 pounds in preparation for my daughter's wedding in August 2014. Also, I want to learn to love (or at least appreciate) exercise, not need diabetes medications, greatly improve my mood (overcome depression and anxiety), and reduce pain from arthritis.


My Program:
I am focusing on managing my diabetes--so important for my future health and avoiding complications! I have also recently stopped eating meat (only veg and fish) and I am working toward being fully vegetarian. I also eat largely organic, seasonal, and local and I think that helps me eat so much healthier.

My name is Cher and I am a writer. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and love animals. I am 60+ and looking forward to making sure I have an active and healthy future!


Other Information:
I'm also dedicated to reducing stress! Saunas and hot tubs, walks in the park, massages, reading by the fire, spending quality time with friends and family, appreciating life more and taking a slower pace.... bring it on.
I love kayaking, reading, movies, stamp collecting, and writing (wrote a novel as part of NaNoWriMo 2013).
