Happy after having lost a lot of weight. I'd like to be there again.

On set for BBC's Call the Midwife (I'm a TV star!). Not yet at goal but a lot slimmer than I am now!

I have 7 pics in my gallery

Every meal is a new beginning

I've been on this site for many years under a different name. I've finally decided to start completely fresh.

My plan is to eat slowly and consciously. Eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm not. I've done it before and it was the easiest and best weight loss plan I've ever followed... until I gave up.

It's time to try again but I need support. Do it for me and I'll do it for you too.

My Goals:
Improve my emotional and physical wellbeing.

Permanently alter my relationship with food.

Feel agile, strong, and energetic.

Do the splits.

Climb Cadair Idris - completed!

My Program:
Listening to my body.

Paul McKenna's 4 golden rules:
* eat when I'm hungry
* eat what I want, not what I think I should
* eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful
* when I'm full, stop

I'm also adding exercise back into my life in a gradual and mindful way.

Personal Information:
I used to be Canadian. I still have the passport, but I feel much more at home in the UK.

I'm a newly qualified primary school teacher, which means life is hectic and I'm constantly stressed. I don't find it easy at all to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so I'm focusing on slowly building habits I can maintain.

Other Information:
Active things I enjoy (and should be doing more of):
- dancing
- inline skating*
- capoeira
- yoga/stretching
- cardio kickboxing

* Please get in touch if you're a Londoner and would be up for going skating with me.

Thanks for passing on your simple way with beans - that's my favourite way of preparing everything ;-) lol will give them a try.

Onto why this dread of travel occurs, I think there's lots of causes with so many reasons, it's a tough one to answer. I used to love the journey as much as the holiday but now I always end up ill with the stress of it!!?? Crazy I know! I've always suffered with travel sickness too and now end up with migraines on top, there's just no hope for me lol. For me though my biggest prob stems from a long period of suffering with anxiety and depression and over time I stopped going out completely. Once the illness had improved I had to almost start over with learning to go out again never mind going away. Won't go into too much detail (it's boring lol) but think it's now about being in unfamiliar situations/areas & I just don't like the feeling of not knowing where I am!!?? I guess it's all about working around what causes the problem to alleviate the stress as much as possible and stepping outside your comfort zone for the greater good. Keep hoping that the adventurer in me will return one day lol.

Have you spoken with your mum about why she thinks she no longer wants to fly? There could be something small or big that triggered it, know my mother in law became averse to flying as she got older & with her it;s about claustrophobia, she used to go abroad 2-3 times a year but that stopped some years back. Hope your mum finds a solution to the problem anyway whatever it is, although she may just not want to fly :-)

I am glad you are enjoying London so much. I agree with you, it is incredibly diverse. Each time I visit it is like a new experience, although each time I have to fit in a visit to the V&A!!! I just love that museum!
The market is the Real Food Market. Here is some information about it:

I hope you'll go and buy a pumpkin strudel this weekend! ;) They had lots of fantastic vegetarian things on that stand. Enjoy!!!
