Plate it!

Hi. I'm working on learning to eat right, eat healthy, and live a quality life.
My doc had me log about 3 days of "normal" eating, and i'm typically getting about 3000 cals, with lots and lots of eating out, and over sized portions.

So calories are not really the issue right now. I'm not worried about the TYPE of food yet, as much as the portion size.

So one month of eating a plate full, only. pretty much any food, but trying to have 1 serving meat, 1 ...

So one month of eating a plate full, only. pretty much any food, but trying to have 1 serving meat, 1 serving carb, and 2 or more of veg.

If I'm hungry, i can eat as many veg and fruits as I like in the first month! yeah.

Doc and I are calling this the "plate diet".

My Goals:
1. Eat a balanced plate each meal. Watch portions. Not worry about calories or fats yet.
2. learn one new recipe per week.
3. Only go out 2 times a week (down from 5-10 with dinners and lunches)

My Program:
My diet is not based on calories yet, but on learning to eat the right size, and teh right things.

for now, for one month, I am eating unlimited fruits and vegies, cause i had so few in my diet. Learn that if I'm hungry, turn to those instead of cakes, cookies, etc.

Thank for the comment on my page about Deer Meat. lol

I think it is funny that you were worried about posting about wild game, because I never gave it a thought before I posted it. lol

My family are all hunters. Aunts, Uncles and even my sister. Me not so much to early and to cold. lol Me and my husband fish. So I would love to know more about how to track the things I eat.

Maybe we will get some advise

It seems like you are off to a great start! Just remember that fruit can be sneaky. :)

P.S. Berries (esp. blackberries and raspberries) are far and away the best fruits to have...they have tons of antioxidants, are full of fiber and are lower in carbs than many other fruits.
