I'm a work in progress, a girl in the world trying to make sense of things, and someone who is learning a little more about herself each day. I just turned thirty-eight and decided that I wanted to be fit & healthy by forty!

This time I've got my sister joining me on the journey, so hopefully we will be able to get each other through the hard days and the moments of "but I don't wanna cook - let's get a pizza!"


December 2013: 3 months in and I'm still learning so much. Forty pounds down on my journey to fit by forty with a little more than 18 months to go. I can do this!

Grateful every day for all the people I've interacted with through SparkPeople and the encouragement and inspiration I receive on a daily basis.


January 2014: New year! Goal is to continue on this journey throughout 2014 and never forget how much Spark People helps me - on good and bad days! My goal for this year is to lose 90lbs, which averages out to about 7.5lbs a month.

February 2014: New month! January spent going around in circles between life/sickness/emotions...back on track now and it's time to just focus on today.

March 2014: Spring is around the corner. I keep reminding myself of that. Motivation has been hard to come by and I've been losing/gaining the same ten pounds recently. So back to the basics and going slow. I need to remember that I can do it. I want this.

October 2014: I've been pretty stagnant with my weight the past couple of months. It's time to reset and get back on track.

Current NSV's (to remind myself on harder days)

-All my blood work has improved!
-I can fit into booths in restaurants!
-I keep shaving time off my mile!
-My clothes are big on me and I got to buy some new ones!
-I can hold plank position!
-People have said how proud they are of me of my hard work.
-I can climb stairs without getting winded and do it properly!

My Goals:
SHORT-TERM
-Lose 10% of current weight!
-Get back to tracking/measuring food every day.
-Manage a military push-up
-train do a 5K in spring of 2015
-Journal more!

LONG-TERM
-to fly on planes and ride roller-coasters without fear of not fitting.
-to sit in a chair and not worry I might break it.
-Wear cute dresses and heels!
-I want to go out in public without the constant belief that everyone is staring.



My Program:
Working hard as a Fuchia Beauty (FBI)!

Getting in at least 180 minutes of exercise a week as a DONE Girl!

Tracking all food and exercise - planning ahead as much as possible.

Bootcamp, Zumba, walking, yoga, and an assortment of dvds that I own. Start Rockin' Body.

Continue to deal with the emotional as well as the physical - like trying to understand the whys of things behind my actions.

Forgive myself for mistakes. Slip ups will happen - it does NOT have to define me or end this journey.

Think positive about myself and repeat my mantra "I am strong and I am capable."

Learn to push myself just a little further, but to also learn to listen to my body.

I'm a nerd who loves comic books (captain america!), reading, watching movies & good television and hanging out with friends. Love the Walking Dead and all things pop culture!
