Hi. I am a 63 year old who has pre-diabetes and is determined to get on track and not only lose the weight,but maintain the loss1 I am still healthy enough to work out but that may not be true in the years to come if I don't do something now! I have often thought that it wouldn't take much to lose control---like being "down" for 2 or 3 months, to gain back all that I have lost and really get in ill health.

So taking one day at a time, and back on schedule with my workouts and walking. Keeping my net carbs per meal down by having one snack and 3 meals and waiting 5 hours between meals and at least 3 before snack. Total net carbs per day will be determined by my progress in the weight loss department.

My Goals:
I want to be healthy, sleep well and soundly, and have the stamina to dance the way I used to dance. I want to feel good about my appearance again and not look in the mirror and think "Who is that?"


My Program:
Exercising and eating 75% fresh foods and organic foods when I can find them. Watching my portions and drinking at least 8 glasses of filtered water daily. Limiting my calories to between 1200 and 1500 and burning off at least 700 cal a week.

My true beginning weight was 227 in Feb of 2011. Lost 20 in 4 months by just watching myself and my portions. Went on Atkins for 4 months and lost 32 more but felt deprived and cholesterol was going up. Got off Atkins and gained 20 back. Then started back with SparkPeople just eating lower carbs than the tracker has for me. Have lost 9 pounds since then.
As of Dec 18, 2013 I began the Virgin Diet. It has been 6 1/2 weeks and I have lost from 185 to 172 and feel better than ever!!

    thanks for the comment on my post! Ive been using a pull up progression that has helped immensely! It starts with just holding the pull up on top for as long as you can, then middle, bottom, and a few other moves. When I started it I could only hold the top for 5-6 secs at most! If you would like, I can send it over to you =)
