The Journey

I am a Christian lady married to my high school sweetheart, (yeah, I know, we were just babies, but hey, it's worked out really well for us!). I have two adult children, one married, one single. I love traveling and seeing new sights. Being outdoors is one of my favorite activities, whether it's hiking, snowshoeing, camping, working in the yard/garden or just hanging out in the hammock, it's all good.

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthy and fit.
I'd like to be able to hike a 14ner. (that's a mountain that's over 14,000 feet tall-it's a Colorado thing).
I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!!
July 27, 2013 Handies Peak above Lake City, Colorado 14,058 feet

My Program:
I am going to the gym four days a week, walking on the treadmill at LEAST 6 miles at 4.5 (and up to 5) mph and lifting weights for 35 minutes. I am watching what I eat, keeping the calorie count between 1200 and 1650 a day.

Personal Information:
I am married to a wonderful man. The past three years we have been teaching a marriage and relationship class based on the"Love and Respect" book and DVD series. It has been a blessing watching God work in marriages and change lives.

Other Information:
I am so thankful for Jesus. I am a born again Christian believer. I'm far, far from perfect, I'm trying to grow and be more what He wants me to become. Even when I fail, He still loves me and is always ready to pick me up, dust me off, and put me back on the right track. For that I am GRATEFUL.

Thanks for the virtual massage. You're so right that a real massage would be great right now just to relax. Thankfully due to all my fitness these last three years I can say I don't have a sore muscle in my body with all this painting. Strength training in the gym and pool are paying off when it comes to this project.

Are you going to join the 30 day challenge? I just signed up. Need to get back to being active and figured this might be a good idea.

Enjoyed reading about your paddle boarding experience. You're a brave woman being out on the ocean as a "non" swimmer. Not everyone would be that brave. I had the impression that paddle boarding would be quite a core workout but sounds like it was quite relaxing. I'm putting it on my to do list for this summer. Have to give it a try now.

Re: the painting. Not near done yet. I have the living room/dining area and hallway done with two coats. Heading down the stairwell next into the basement. I'll be doing a slightly lighter version of the same colour. There I have the entry and hallway to complete. These rooms all run from one to the next in my home. Then it's baseboards.
I am enjoying the painting although I dreaded starting.
I have plans to do the bedrooms/bathrooms yet after this first phase of the project. Now that I've started I might as well continue I figure. At least if my energy holds out.
I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished result.
This all started because I had a flood in my basement early last October....Mmmm....

Cindy, I am a total luddite when it comes to technology but I will try to post a photo or two from my cruise. We are planning tentatively a trip from our hometown of Vancouver through the Panama Canal that ends in Miami. A bit hesitant because it is a fairly long time being 20 days. It appeals because it involves one less flight. If we do go I think I will be far more judicious on my food choices. Congrats, on being so close to your goal. emoticon
