I'm married with two children. A daughter who is a high school junior and who is starting to plan her college career and a son who is in 9th grade. Our son was diagnosed with autism at age 3 (now 15 yrs old). I've never been a "health freak" or very athletic. But I've put on 40-50 lbs since the kids were born (about 70 since I was married 20 yrs ago) I've lost almost 20 lbs in just over a year without much effort other than stopping the breakfast trip to McD's 2-3 times a week on my way to ...

Our son was diagnosed with autism at age 3 (now 15 yrs old). I've never been a "health freak" or very athletic. But I've put on 40-50 lbs since the kids were born (about 70 since I was married 20 yrs ago) I've lost almost 20 lbs in just over a year without much effort other than stopping the breakfast trip to McD's 2-3 times a week on my way to work (I lost my job about 14 months ago, so I'm not heading out in the mornings like I used to), and not drinking my usual diet wild cherry pepsi... found that I have finally built up an "allergy" to aspertame! I need to get my weight under control.

My goal is to lose about 15-20 lbs by my birthday at the end of May. Then another 30-35 lbs or so over the summer so I am at my 'wedding weight' for my 21st anniversary...

At the same time, I want to learn, along with my daughter, how to eat and cook healthier. Not perfect... but healthier. She already eats better than I do. I also want to get into the habit of moving my body. Either going for walks (if we ever lose all this snow) or doing Leslie Sansone's indoor walking programs.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. It can be done and maybe changing stuff up for you will be a new motivation for you. I know for me I like to change things up now and then sometimes with food sometimes with exercising. Keep taking one food in front of the other and you will reach your goals too.

I will be talking to larry very soon about several things I have on my list. I have his email address so i'm all set.

I'm a little nervous about taking spin class tonight but excited!!!

All you can ever do is your best and as long as you know that, it's what counts. Jon is doing great. Love hearing about his progress. I can't imagine all the challenging moments you have especially with the educators.

Keep working hard and make sure you take care of yourself also. Your the only Mom they have and they need you.
