Getting Healthier EveryDay!

Hi, I am a 58 year-old veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. I have been on every diet ever invented and a few I invented myself. I have lost and regained tons of weight. (More than 100 lbs several times.) 5 1/2 year ago I had gastric bypass surgery (Roux-n-Y) after I developed diabetes and knew it was time to get serious. I lost more than 200 lbs. (More than 100 lbs several times.) 5 1/2 year ago I had gastric bypass surgery (Roux-n-Y) after I developed diabetes and knew it was time to get serious. I lost more than 200 lbs. In the meantime, I went through breast cancer, fell in love with an old friend (my best friend), got married, moved 2000miles to be with my new husband (& changed jobs, got some new kids and grandkids in the process). Through all this I regained between 40 & 50 lbs. Of course this is the first time in my life I lost weight and didn't gain it all back plus, but I want to get this back off and get back on track a little better. I just discovered SP a couple of weeks ago. The tools and information are wonderful. I think this is a perfect tool to help me get things back on track and figure out how to work things into my radically changed life.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Carol

Hi. I am in Waco, not Austin but I know there is a walking club in your area if you are interested in participating in walking events. I do similar walks every weekend. We are not "fund raising" clubs, we are for fun, fitness and fellowship. Our clubs are family oriented and most events are baby stroller, and pet friendly. Our object is to keep a record book and collect a stamp for each event that we do. I've done over a 1000 of the 10K events in Texas and in 46 other states. Here is the information on your local club:

Club Name: Colorado River Walkers
Address: PO Box 13051
City: Austin
State: TX
Zip: 78711-3051
Contact: Nancy Middlebrook
Phone: (512) 442-8528

I'm one of the leaders of Christian Living 2009. We haven't seen you around in a while, and wanted to stop by and see how you were doing. The team has been really quiet lately, and I'd like to find some ways to get it going again. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Also, if you get a chance, stop by the team and let everyone know how your doing on the '2009 Chat' thread. We would love to hear how your reaching your goals.

Have a wonderful week!

God Bless,
Mary
