“The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

Wise old Abe! He knee that we only need to focus on that one day and do the best we can. I'm focused on making today a good day and hope you are too.

    Aloha CJ!

I get the 'cookie' jar scenario - ha! I used to make cookies for my husband but I ate way more than he did - he's very 'reasonable' in how he eats and one of those 'naturally' thin people - ha! I no longer make cookies (except once in a great while) but we do have whole grain crackers in 'clear' containers that are a visual to me where we have to put them (in a motor home not a lot of choices - ha!). I read a tip from somewhere the other day that putting those kind of things in an opaque container can help. I'm going to try that - ha!

Hope you're having a good No S day today ... I've been doing it a few months and some days go well/some do not ... as in all life - ha! Just keep doing it the best I can when I can and I'm finding eventually I'm doing it more than not.

Have a great day - we're enjoying our tropical breezes here today ... hope you guys aren't too hot! take care ~ dj

Have a great weekend! After my last visit with my oncologist, I am back on the bandwagon! He got in my face and said, "This weight gain has got to stop. No excuses!!" I have lost 7 pounds since June 1, slower this time, but as long as I am going down, I can be patient. I still splurge some. I never got to where I could not do or go because of the gain (maybe 40 pounds?). I knew I needed to get back on the bandwagon, but I lacked the motivation. God used my wonderful oncologist to motivate me! I miss eating whatever I wanted when I wanted it, but I am happier back on the bandwagon. Praise God for the motivation. I am not exercising like I did the first time around. The pill I take for the Estrogen Receptor breast cancer makes my bones, tendons, etc. ache, so I don't do as much aerobic exercise. I can climb up three flights of stairs to the water slide six times straight. I could never have done that at my biggest weight! emoticon emoticon

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to m blog. Sometimes I just want to give up on everything but I can't let myself do that! Lack of sleep has really become a problem. Believe it or not, my cat has been diagnosed with a form of dementia - guess it's there in animals, too. He cries at night if he leaves the bedroom; he's confused and just stops and stares and cries. That wakes me up and I talk to him; he comes to the bed and cuddles at my feet and goes to sleep for a little while - then it all repeats. He always had the other cat with him and didn't feel "lost" before.
Last night was the first night I didn't have knee or ankle pain in several weeks. I can actually walk today!
How are things with you and your family?
