I am a tennis player that had "shingles" one and a half years ago and the rash damaged the nerves along the rib area on my right side. I have not been able to play tennis or get much exercise since. My medicine for the postherpetic neuralgia causes weight gain as well. I am looking forward to sharing knowledge with others in the Sparks community.

My Goals:
To get back on the tennis courts, to walking 3 or 4 miles every other day and eating the foods that are good for my body. I believe these are the answers to my body healing itself. Thus, getting off the medicine!!!
Personal Information:
I am a retired public school counselor. I had to give up my job to care for my elderly mother after my father died. I had always told my parents that they raised and provided a good and loving childhood for me and when the time came for me to care for them I will gratefully do so. My mother required most of my time and therefore I was no longer able to have my job, walk 4 miles and play tennis 3 or 4 days a week as was my routine......thus over time the pounds arrived. My dear mother has now passed away.....I am diviorced and now on my own so this is a "new day" and I can take care of me now. I never realized what a job it was going to be to take care of me!!!! HELP! Sparkes friends....... please accept my "pay forward" thanks.
Other Information:
A NEW DAY This is the beginning of a New Day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or grow in its light and be of service to others. But what I do with this day is important because I have exchanged a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. I hope I will not regret the price I paid for it.
