Brain Dump

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. ~Fr. When I was a teenager I had a horse too. We lived a little bit outside of town next to some state owned land then (now it's forest service land) and I spent hours and hours out there with my horse by myself. There was a stream that I would sometimes go to and let Gypsy graze on the grass while I just laid or sat around enjoying the beauty and peace. It was my escape then. I still hike out in that area now. I do feel safer out there than in town. I've told people that statistically I'm much more in danger of getting hit by a car, being in an accident, or even a crime than out there. We really are so much alike!

You commented on my hosta, Krossa Regal. It is a favorite of mine as well. I put in a Regal Standard last year which should have the same vase shape and I am anxious to see how it does. We still have snow on the ground and I am waiting impatiently for my hostas to show up!

Thanks for your comment on my spark page. Glad my story helps in some way. I was reading your page and saw that you are kind of a solitary person and love the outdoors. I am very much the same way. I do a lot of hiking by myself and people ask me all the time how I can do that. But I love being out in nature by myself.
Have a great day!

Yes we do need to get HFCS out of our stores and schools. It is so damaging. Thanks for stopping by.

Well to be honest, I bought it as an established plant and put it in a container. It did last the summer and bloomed quite well. Loads of flowers. But I neglected it's needs. The soil was too rich, not well draining, and winter simply killed it. I'm going to find another one and try A- using the right soil and B- putting it under the eave during winter so it doesn't receive as much rain. A tall order in the Pacific Northwest.
