I love this crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautful life!
As a crazy mom to 7 kids and a step-son, crazy wife to a wonderful husband of 14 years, crazy daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin to an awesome family, you would think that I have had my dose of crazy. Not even close. Nope - you add in the regular demands of a mom, drop in some homeschooling, a couple of part time jobs, LOTS of volunteering, coaching gymnastics, and a bunch of other things that consume pretty good amounts of time. THAT is enough to make someone crazy, right?? ...

THAT is enough to make someone crazy, right?? Despite all the crazy around me, I am still bound and determined to push forward! I'm keeping my head in the game, and doing what I need to do in order to make progress and see results! It's never easy. I am not always successful. I just keep plugging along...no matter what. I'll get there - and so will YOU!!! :-) Let's GO!!

My Goals:
My main overall goal is to lose weight, so that I am back to a healthy weight for ME! I have reached an all-time high of 244.5 pounds - which was previously my pregnancy high. I have a lot of work to do - and at least 100 pounds to lose. My other goals besides the inevitable weight loss is to tone up my muscles (strength training 2X a week to start) Increase my flexibility (PM yoga every night - it only takes 20 minutes!) Broaden my options of cardio (start with beginner Zumba, Leslie Sansone - will add to that in a few weeks) I would like to be able to do a variety of things and not be held back - either by fear of failure, fear of how I look, or just plain inability to do it (which is where I am at RIGHT.NOW!)
My Program:
I know now, having been there/done that, that there really is only one way to lose weight - and that is by hard work and diligence. I am also being realistic, and am going to set SMALL goals until they become HABIT, so that I set myself up for success - and NOT FAILURE!! I am counting calories daily - and for every meal - to make sure I stay within my goal of 1220 - 1570 calories a day. I will also incorporate cardio (at least 20 minutes, 5X a week), strength-training (for upper. lower, and core - 2X a week for 20 minutes), and also Yoga and flexibility training (every night for 20 minutes. I want to be healthy, strong, and flexible...and I want to train all of those 'forgotten' muscles. I'm sure they feel left out!
Personal Information:
I live in a small town in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan's U.P. I am a married mother of eight natural kids and a step-son. My husband, Glen, and I have been together for over thirteen years. I am a stay at home mom, and have been since 2002. I have been through a lot in my life, and have learned valuable life lessons from them all. My first son, Jonah, is my angel in heaven. I have one sister, parents who are still married, and lots of family around me. I am a christian, and indisputably believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. I love to help people...anyone who needs it. I am highly protective of my children and husband. I need to lose weight and am working (HARD) on it. Autism is something I never thought would affect my life, but in some ways, I'm grateful it did. I am a giver by nature, but I'm starting to learn to give to myself too.
Other Information:
Some of my favorite quotes are: "Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can DO today!" "A little effort goes a long way" Get 'er DONE! *Do not confuse motion & progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress!* And now these three remain...faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE! I can do anything through Christ, who gives me strength! Do or do not... there is no try. ~ Yoda
