My Goals:
My main goal is to tread lightly on the planet and live a simple, healthy life. I love cooking healthy foods from scratch, exercising, doing crafty things, and helping people reach their goals. I try to do something active every day to maintain a healthy weight.

My Program:
  • Running 3-4x /week
  • Spinning 1x/week
  • Pilates 2x/week
  • Functional strength training (Pilates reformer, free weights, body weight, and kettlebells) 1x week
  • Stretching after every workout

I rely on my own hunger signals instead of counting calories. I eat lots of whole foods (mostly organic and seasonal stuff), drink loads of water, and try to get plenty of sleep!

I'm currently training as a Pilates Reformer instructor. It's a blast! I will also be ACE-certified and PiYo certified in early 2010.

    Personal Information:
    Vegetarian tree hugger

I like exercising as long as it's fun!

    Other Information:
Yes, working for SparkPeople IS the best job in the world!

I am getting way too many emails from the vegetarians threads. I really don't want that many. And, I've spent the last thirty minutes trying to figure out how to get off the thread. Please help me.

    THank you.

    Good morning Coach Nicole :),

I hope all is well with you. It definitely appears you have embraced your inner runner :)! Its a great sport, huh? Thanks for the link to the blog on the vibram five fingers, I finally had a chance to read it and it was very interesting. I will have to add that book to my reading list. I chickened out, however and bought running shoes. Old habits . . . speaking of old habits . . .

I have exciting news, my husband and I decided last Monday to go pescetarian, we had been eating mostly meatless meals at home for years due to the huge environmental impact of meat production, but we still ate it. I always felt guilty, but proved amazingly adept at practicing congitive dissonance. Until now, I am currently taking an environmental ethics course, and we read several pieces on human moral obligation to non-human animals and I finally said, "DONE! I will no longer participate in this barbaric practice." This past weekend I was doing research on fish and I am starting to really lean toward going straight vegetarian. I had no idea how costly it was to the environment produce farm fish! And obviously wild caught fish are in grave danger of over fishing, so they were out already.

Anyway, I thought I would share that two more people have definitely sworn off mammals and birds!

I hope you are having a great February! I hope that the PT training is coming along nicely. I can only imagine you would have client's beating down the door with your popularity :).

    Take care,
    Kim

Hi Nicole! Wanted to let you know that my DVDs came from Amazon this past week - YAY! So far, I've done the cardio one twice all the way through. LOVE it! :-) Great job!
Can't wait to do the Fit, Firm and Fired Up DVD to see what that is like.

Hey Nicole, I just realized that we both think Spinning RULES, and the Reformer, and running. My top three right there. That's awesome. I hope the rain stops for you, and comes this way instead to melt away the unusual snow we're having... so we can both get our runs on.
