A New Year, A New Beginning

I have a goal to become healthy and reverse my diabetes. To have it under control and have fun doing it.

I would eventually like to find a culinary school, as I love to cook, and am a frustrated chef at heart, sort of like Remy in Ratatouille. I want to cook healthy and not be so dependent on the microwave.

I am well on my way to being healthy, and I feel great!

7/12/2012 I am down to 233.6, a loss of 72.4 pounds so far. That pic to the left is no longer ...

7/29/2012 I am now down to 228.8, a loss of 77.2 pounds now. And I feel great! No longer the person on the left.

And the dragon warrior is still here, he's down below

I gained 2 pounds today. I'll have to work harder.

I give thanks to God, the Father, for you as I pray for you today. May you know by experience God’s grace, spiritual favor and BLESSing today and every day, having heart peace from God the Eternal Father – that peaceful state of trust in Him to which He calls us; that soul harmony with Him that umpires life choices, heart desires, and questions of the mind. May He settle us with faith to trust Him. Have a BLESSed Thanksgiving, rested in Father. Loving you in Christ, Darlene.

The cold weather is getting to me, but it will not win the war. What is getting to you and slowing your progress? Let me know and I will gladly pray with you for your victory. Whatever the challenge, let's keep the main thing the main thing and find the victory there. Enjoy the journey, and remember, progress--not perfection. Change comes here a little and there a little as we stay the course. Remember that true success is in how we make the journey, not the destination. If we lose all our weight but fail the change the habits that put us there, we may feel victorious in reaching the destination, but it will be short lived if we don't find the victory needed on the journey of true change. emoticon emoticon emoticon Darlene emoticon Go Mustangs! There is victory in the journey lived well.

Worry over the future breeds anxiety. Fretting over the past breeds depression. Both can stop our good movement forward and put us in front of the TV with a bad movie and too much of the stuff we don’t need to put into our bodies. That horrid cycle, of course, breeds regret and dread that brings us to more of the same. I believe that is called “insanity”.

Instead work to stay in the present taking the next step needed for living to the full the “now” that is before you, having learned better ways from past experience and pushing forward with hope that right action now will produce a better tomorrow. This is living life with power that produces a good outcome and protects our journey from wasting away.

Plan for the future, yes; but let the first plan be to live your best you in the now you have to possess.
