My weight has been yo-yo-ing all my adult life! And I'm really tired of it! I want to walk into a room and not feel self-conscious about my weight. After a lifetime of selecting clothes to conceal myself, I want to wear pretty clothes, try new activities & grab more gusto!

My weight has been yo-yo-ing all my adult life! And I'm really tired of it! I want to walk into a room and not feel self-conscious about my weight. After a lifetime of selecting clothes to conceal myself, I want to wear pretty clothes, try new activities & grab more gusto!

Update: I've been with SP for almost 5 yr. Lost the weight in 6 months. Rode the roller coaster of up & down the scale. Finally I'm ignoring the scale , making good food choices & exercising at least 30 min. 6 days/week. Period.

Most important lesson learned: The bad habits that made me fat the first time (and the 128th time!) will make me fat again. This must be a permanent change in my life.

2013: After DH got a new knee & I returned to all my bad habits, I sat around & regained nearly all the weight I had lost.

Started over 3 weeks ago and am now on Day 20 of a streak of at least 30 min. of exercise 6 days/week. Feel better! Clothes fit better!

It's working...it always does. SP is the greatest! Just do it...and it feels soo great!

Hi! You brought up a very good point about the X's. One I've been contemplating, but not sure how to handle. I think expecting one everyday will become overwhelming and stressful. My thoughts on that were to expect 5 X's a week. Should I work out a 6th day...well, then...bonus!

Despite telling myself I'm not going to be concerned with calories yet, I do find myself making better food choices (most of the time). When you do one healthy thing for yourself, it seems to snowball into others. For once...a snowball effect I can get behind.

emoticon to you, my friend!

Thank you for your very kind and encouraging words - I was very touched by what you said. I really have been in a "Circle of Life" kind of way, lately, between dealing with my very elderly mother, my seriously ill sister, and being at my beautiful little nephew's birth. I liked that you pointed that out to me in a way that it really struck me. I took today off (well, 1/2 of it, anyway) and I took care of nothing and no one but ME! I even took a delicious nap. I very consciously chose to disconnect from everyone for a few hours. Even the dogs cooperated, curling up and napping with me, bless their hearts. Of course, it helped that we had done an hour-long, muddy, trail romp several hours before. Thank you for the encouragement to rest and recharge. I hope you are doing well - how goes the rehab?
