My weight has been yo-yo-ing all my adult life! And I'm really tired of it! I want to walk into a room and not feel self-conscious about my weight. After a lifetime of selecting clothes to conceal myself, I want to wear pretty clothes, try new activities & grab more gusto!

Update: I've been with SP for almost 5 yr. Lost the weight in 6 months. Rode the roller coaster of up & down the scale. Finally I'm ignoring the scale , making good food choices & exercising at least 30 min. 6 days/week. Period.

Most important lesson learned: The bad habits that made me fat the first time (and the 128th time!) will make me fat again. This must be a permanent change in my life.

2013: After DH got a new knee & I returned to all my bad habits, I sat around & regained nearly all the weight I had lost.

Started over 3 weeks ago and am now on Day 20 of a streak of at least 30 min. of exercise 6 days/week. Feel better! Clothes fit better!

It's working...it always does. SP is the greatest! Just do it...and it feels soo great!

Thanks for your comment and support about my running. I used to think that running for 45 minutes or more was completely impossible, something that only super "athletic" people could do. I am totally NOT athletic, but Couch to 5K got me started and it's just gone on from there.

I will NEVER forget the first day I ran 4 miles...I couldn't believe it was me!

Hope you're having a wonderful week and surviving this cold spell!

Thanks for your comment on my blog about eating out. I learned a lot about eating gluten and dairy free while travelling on our vacation last month. I learned to always ask what is gluten free before I ordered. Many places have special gluten free menus. I found that chicken or salmon salads (without cheese and croutons) were available pretty much everywhere. It really is amazing how many unhealthy foods are eliminated when you don't order anything with gluten, dairy or sugar in it. I never counted calories, just didn't eat anything with gluten, dairy or sugar in it!

Thanks for commenting on my last travel blog. Yes, that part of Arizona is really great! I can't wait to go back and explore some more next year!

I haven't decided whether or not to blog about our trip to the ranch. One of the main purposes was to try to get rid of some of the wild hogs that are such a menace to that part of Texas. I did shoot one large hog, and I made a roast out of one of the shoulders while we were there. Some folks just aren't too keen on hunting, but there isn't any leaner meat than that. Absolutely no fat on those hogs...
