I started my weight loss journey over 8 years ago. Before SP, I lost approximately 47 lbs. by counting calories and exercising. I joined Sparkpeople in 2006 to help keep the motivation going. To date, I have lost 53 lbs. (see Before and After pictures) and I have KEPT THE WEIGHT OFF!

Each year I set new goals for myself and with SP I'm able to reach those goals. With SparkPeople I have gone from running a 5k to Running two Half Marathons. Whatever fitness goal I set for myself, there is a Spark Team out there that I can join to help answer questions and help motivate me to reach my goals.

I am an LPN and I work with the mentally disabled. I help my clients learn about proper portion sizes, good food choices, and how to add exercise into their daily lives. I also run the Biggest Loser program for the staff that I work with. We have weekly weigh-ins, weekly diet tips and exercise tips, and group exercise. I love motivating others in their weight loss efforts. I love helping others learn how they can improve their eating habits and incorporate exercise into their daily lives

Slow and Steady wins the race. That's my approach with weight loss and life style changes. I believe that there are no quick fixes or magic pills for weight loss; it takes a lifestyle change. Change one habit at a time, that's the only way your changes will stick. Eating right and exercising take commitment; but you get out what you put in!!

I do 30 min. - 1hr of exercise a day.

I enjoy walking, jogging, tae-bo, step, turbo jam, pilates, spin class, yoga and lifting weights. I like to mix it up.
