Finally Free!
I'm 26 years old, and am finally at a point where I look in the mirror and smile.. most days anyway! I remember plenty of times that I looked in the mirror and cried at what I saw. I remember dreading dance class, because I'd have to stand in a leotard next to the skinny ballerinas. I remember hating hip hop, because when we would shake... I had a little too much to shake! But I didn't want anyone to know I was ashamed of my body. I kept thinking, I'll just diet and exercise on ...

I remember dreading dance class, because I'd have to stand in a leotard next to the skinny ballerinas. I remember hating hip hop, because when we would shake... I had a little too much to shake! But I didn't want anyone to know I was ashamed of my body. I kept thinking, I'll just diet and exercise on the sly, and not tell anyone. Because if I tell anyone, it is admitting that I need to change, and that I am far less than perfect. I couldn't handle that. Even coming on here was hard. Even though we are all here for the same reason, it is hard to admit that you need to change everything about your lifestyle. 2012 is MY year. I will be healthier and I will be happier. I will reach out to the spark members who motivate me, and I will build relationships with members who perhaps, I motivate. I will be open with friends and family about my goals so that I can receive proper support. And most importantly, I will reach out when I need help, rather than reverting into my shell.
