Striving to be a Better Me

Between going to school and working a full time job, I have found little time to worry about myself. It's now time to get myself together.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 30lbs before the Christmas holiday, it's going to be hard but I will try my best to stick to it.

My Program:
I'm on a low calorie diet, only fruit and veggies and chicken/fish/turkey. I drink only water throughout the week, which has been the hardest transition. I am addicted to soda so it's been a struggle. I've tried what they call "sassy water" with strawberries, kiwi, and lemon mixed with water and I like it.

Personal Information:
I am 28yrs old, work for MD State Govt., I took a break from school at Strayer University to focus on other things. I love music and I love to sing. I am quite the couch potato. I can sit all day eating and watching reality shows. I've most recently bought a bike to try to get outside more. I have a dog and two cats, they're like my babies since I do not have children yet. I currently reside in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Thanks Shaybaby for your comment. I also find that its much easier to stay on track when i'm logging in my food each day. It helps me to see what calories I'm putting inside my belly. It's been a struggle to stay on track, but im glad to know I have people like you there for encouragement. I appreciate it!!! Thanks!!!

Hi! Thanks for adding me and welcome! I've been on sparkpeopke off and on for 3 years and there's no doubt that when I'm following the spark I feel great and do better. Using the trackers for food especially is the key for me...like I say on my page, if you track then there's no excuses to fail! ;)
I'm here for an ear or help of any kind, and again...Welcome fellow Marylander!!

Thank You for that response. I felt a bit overwhelmed at first getting onto sparkpeople.com because it's soooooo much you can do. I've been sitting here at work for over an hour just looking over the website. I'll have to check Susan's page, as you know I'm not far from Randallstown and would love a walking buddy. And yes I'm a Ravens fan, I bleed Purple...well that may be going too far, I bleed red but yea Im a ravens fan lol. I support the Orioles but not much into baseball. But I get orioles tickets on discount working for the State Govt. Still havent been to a game since I was a teen. Anywho I am excited to start getting this weight off of me, it hasn't been easy. I fall off the wagon pretty often, but getting back on is the key. Thanks again for you post. Best Wishes!!!

Wow, someone has to be first here. So it's me. (Another notch on my Sparky belt).

First things first: we are neighbors. Born and raised Balitmorean, now living in the wilderness of southern Carroll County. My Mom is in Owings Mills, which brings me in a lot. My wife also is a Sparky - check out Susan818127. She's a Randallstown girl originally.

If you have not yet done so, I encourage you to fully explore this web site. There is a lot of help to be found in its nooks and crannies. Feel free to make your own mistakes on the weight loss caravan (its not a journey but a carava - see my March 5, 2012 blog and the one that followed), but don't make the many mistakes I have made which are aptly documented here.

So, Orioles fan? (I see orange!). Or Ravens, maybe? Born and raised here too?

Finally, feel free to ask me anything. Remember, we're all in this together.
