Taking it One Day at a Time

I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I've tried every diet fad out there - you name it, I've done it. I'm hoping to make a permanent change this time. I'm starting this endeavor with my 16 year old daughter. So far, it's been fun sharing this experience with her. We have always been close, but now we actually take the time to prepare our meals and eat breakfast together (as opposed to rushing out the door and getting fast food on the way to work and school.)

I'm looking forward to this new adventure and participating in the SparkPeople program.

My Goals:
I'm looking forward to going to Rome in 2011 and being able to walk around the city without getting tuckered out from all of the walking.

My Program:
My daughter, Brianna, is doing the program with me. She is here on SP as Konk93. It's fun being able to shop for our meals and prepare them together. We also are sharing some of our meals with family members to try to get them involved. So far, so good. Also, I used to eat out (fast food) everyday for lunch. I now pack my food and bring it to work. It's a little more work and planning, but it will be worth it in the long run, and I don't feel deprived or anything.

Personal Information:
I live in beautiful NW Arkansas. By day, I work -as an office manager in State Government. I am married and have 3 beautiful and caring children.

Other Information:
When I am not working my full time job, I design art jewelry, religious jewelry and mixed media creations. Several of my designs have been published in magazines and a book. My designs are sold in boutiques and on EBay, where I am a Powerseller, and Etsy.

Hope your vacation was restful; enjoy your last day. Also, I have noticed when on your SparkPage that you sell on Etsy (earrings on background are so cute!) Had good luck with Etsy? Is it hard to get started with? I'm looking for another venue to sell my jewelry & jewelry-wire style rosaries. I tried eBay 6-7 yrs ago with moderate success. Mostly selling by word of mouth, locally & church fairs now. I'm hoping to get my little cottage industry back in operation this fall... Hope your precious daughter's well. Is she still planning on the Dominican's, up my way, after high school? It would be so cool to have her nearby having met yall on SP. Hope she's surviving exams. My son's 3 exams away from an 8 course load of exams. My daughter, being a senior, took early exams for her 4 college board, AP courses & was exempt from other 4 due to 100 or above avg all yr long. She graduated from high school last Sunday (top 10 in her class!)
Last thing...noticed you lived in north AR. My cousin lived in Stutgard & a brother/sister-in-law in Blytheville. Both have moved, but I used to send Christmas cards to AR for a long time.
God bless you, Wanda, & give you peace,
emoticon
