Crazy Cat Lady

I am a 40 year old female, who wants to get healthy and be in better shape. Been gaining weight since mid-thirties and finally tired of it. Oddly enough I have no trouble being active, but I finally figured out that I eat too much.

Personally, I am a dancer, atheist, humanist, animal lover and general nerd.

My Goals:
Be more physically fit. Learn how to be more flexible and graceful. Accept my body type and work with it. Stop using food for stress relief.

New Goals:

1) Put together a dance choreography for my husband. (done)

2) Buy real bellydance outfit. (done)

3) Go to weekend belly dance workshop next summer/Fall.

4) Eventually get good enough to dance for audience. (done with a dance troupe)

5) Dance a solo.

6) Lose 20 more pounds I wil buy myself one of these skirts. http://gopiskirts.com/


My Program:
Eating under 1700 calories a day.

I have advanced bellydance in the evenings on MON WED and SAT for at least 2-3 hrs.

I have an hour for lunch so MON TO FRI at noon I do 1/2 or 45mins I do water areobics on WED, Zumba on FRI. I do treadmill or ellipical TUES and THURS.

I do YOGA once a week, on evenings when I don't have dance either to practice for 1/2 hr or do some strength exercises.

I also do Yoga on Tues evening. I take SUN off.

I really liked what you wrote on a recent blog about "dieting". Like you, now that I am in my 40's it really isn't about being the skinny girl, it's about getting a handle on my poor, ingrained eating habits and not using food for anything other than nourishment.

I have been learning a lot about myself on my new journey and in the process lost over 30 pounds...

Anyway, just wanted to say I like what you wrote. Keep up the great job and the healthy lifestyle!
