My name is Katie. I have struggled with my weight all my life. When I was in high school I was athletic and healthy (and looking back only a little bit heavy) but then came the freshman 15 (or 25) and a spinal injury that took away some mobility for awhile. In 2001 I was in a very good place in my life and was able to take an amazing summer and get very close to my goal weight (185). Since then a steady stream of problems helped a steady weight gain. Now it is time to go backwards - no matter WHAT gets thrown my way. I am back to 2007 so far!

I have a large frame (thanks grampa!) and I have never wanted to be super thin so I think 185 is a good goal for me. When I get close I am going to be checking my body fat percentage and ensuring it is a healthy range.

Fitness Minutes: 31,383

My Goals:
Lose a total of 80 lbs (SW 265). Run a 5k in under 30 mins (official time!). Waist under 35 inches. Next years health check be under 30% body fat.

Start #2 August 1 2010. SW 256 but same goals as above.

My brother is getting married May 2011 and we are getting married April 2012 so those pictures are my inspiration!


My Program:
Right now following SparkPeople. My calorie range is about 1300-1600 and I am trying to get cardio in at least 5x per week. I have been struggling with some health issues (asthma being a big one) so right now I am not pushing myself too much on the intense exercise front or I will get grumpy and give up! And we don't want that!

After the 1st of the year (2011) I hope to have things better under control and make some specific goals!

Live in Hillsboro, Oregon with my man and our two dogs.


Other Information:
Other than work and exercise I do a lot of sewing/quilting, baking and just hanging out with family/friends.

    I can't believe it's been so long since I said Hi! I miss our water aerobics too! There is no swimming pool or gym available here and it's seriously too cold to exercise outside so I'm stuck with workout videos and weights. It's kind of a pain, but what can ya do?!? :)

    I noticed you finally set a date for your wedding; did you end up deciding on a destination wedding like you talked about? :P
