Hello, my name is Don. I live close to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Chesapeake Beach, MD. I live there with my wife and Jack Russell named Skipper. I'm an avid photography hobbyist and Corvette enthusiast. Over time I'm sure I will share lots of both of those passions with you here.

I have had numerous successes with weight loss in the past but always seem to fall back into old habits and fail after I reach my goal. I'm almost ashamed to say AGAIN that I'm the heaviest I have been in my life and need to do something drastic to avert more serious health conditions.

I have recently been "Sparked" by a close friend of mine that has started this same weight loss journey and he has been very successful thus far. I have watched him drop over forty pounds in the past several months in astonishment. I have now committed to the same.

Recently, I went to see a good Doctor to kick start my effort. My wife is on board and she is looking forward to doing this whole eating habit change with me.

So, I'm trying again and hoping that I can really train myself to stay on it even after approaching goal or reaching goal weight and making some permanent life style changes!!

Hope you don't mind my asking a camera question. Years ago I owned a very nice Minolta camera with several lenses.
Got tired of lugging it around. My wife and I are planning a couple of trips and we would like something better than our iPhone cameras. Any suggestions on a good camera/lens combination mostly for outdoor nature photography and some people shots without too high of a price?

Hi Don, thanks for stopping by the comment on my blog. I am a bit of a gadget nerd so the fitbit is perfect for me - I've used a couple of different iOS distance-measuring apps but they're far less convenient than the fitbit and using something external to my idevice means that I don't have to interrupt the music or audiobook I'm listening to to check my progress. I also don't really think about the fitbit all that often, it's very unobtrusive. There's a fitbit team on SP if you want to learn more!
