A little about me...

My starting weight is 257. I’m short, so that is a lot. My goal weight is 130. The charts say I should be at 119, but I think that is unrealistic as I’m curvy and have a large bust.
I’ve been overweight for 9 years now. Once upon a time I was very active. Biking, hiking, river kayaking, I loved moving. I miss it. I miss being active, hiking all that stuff. I feel like I can’t now because I’m so off balance. But, I made the first step and told DH that I want to go hiking this ...

I’ve been overweight for 9 years now. Once upon a time I was very active. Biking, hiking, river kayaking, I loved moving. I miss it. I miss being active, hiking all that stuff. I feel like I can’t now because I’m so off balance. But, I made the first step and told DH that I want to go hiking this weekend. No more will I sit on the couch and let others go have fun outdoors. It may be very taxing on me as obese as I am, but I’m going to get off my tush and do it.
Same for exercising, I’m pushing myself more, and finding I can do more. For the first time in my weight loss journey I’m actually doing what it takes to lose weight. I’m eating right, I’m eating less. I’m working out. I’m trying to get up and move more during the day.
I used to think I could not lose weight. I watched my Mom struggle for years and not be able to lose even a pound. But she would cheat eat and binge eat and then give up on the exercise. I love her to pieces, but this is one case she was not a good role model. Once I realized that I can lose weight, I’ve really poured myself into it. To date I have lost 9 pounds and 1 inch from my waits and hips. It may not be much, but to me it is something worth celebrating!
