I have been overweight most my life. In college I was in the best shape I have ever been in (until now :) ). I can't say how much I weighed, because I never did weigh. When I got married I slowly started gaining weight again. After my 2 children, I was up to 222 pounds. I decided I had to do something to change. I started eating healthier and exercising everyday. I've now lost 70 pounds. I seem to be at a plateau. Most likely because I only have 20 more to go. I am working hard to get off the plateau and get busy losing the last 20 pounds. I look forward to being under 150 pounds. It is wonderful to see how my clothes fit and to know I can continue to be healthy. My weight does not define me like it used to. It is simply a part of who I am. Losing the last pounds won't be easy, but I need to lose more body fat to be healthier and help my body to be stronger.
On top of the never ending plateau, I am having bad back pain. A herniated disk will do that. I have had treatment, but it isn't doing much. I have decided to do exercises to strengthen my core and back muscles. I will continue to eat healthy, but I will start exercising more. I will not do things that hurt my back so some of my favorite exercises are off limits for a while, but that doesn't mean I can't walk or swim which I love. I just have to get back to it. I can't let the pain stop me, but I can't ignore it and let it get worse.

My Goals:
My current goal is to lose the last 20 pounds to reach my "healthy" weight. To do this, I will exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. I plan to continue to try new healthy foods and incorporate the ones I like into my food. I plan to eat fruit and vegetables because they taste so good. I also plan not to beat myself up if I don't get in my exercise. I plan to simply do my best.

My Program:
I am not eating out as often. I am eating more fruits and vegetables. I am exercising at least 30 minutes 5 days a week, and keeping in touch with friends throughout the process. I try not to eat fried foods anymore because they tend to give me a tummy ache now. I have been trying new exercises and new fun activities. Hoola Hooping is so much fun.
To get my veges and fruit in, I will buy more veges I can take to work and eat for snacks. I will prepare them over the weekend when I have the time and energy so I can take a snack bag to work each day. I will have fruits that I enjoy and all I have to do is wash. This will help me to get the fruits and veges into my diet so I don't forget about them.

Personal Information:
I have a wonderful family, and great friends. I love to read and write even though I rarely finish anything I write.
I currently work as the secretary at our church and I love it. While at times I miss teaching, it is a lot less stressful and I have more time with my boys (except in the summer).

Other Information:
My family means the world to me. I want to be healthy so they will be healthy, and I want to be around for years to come so I can enjoy my family to its fullest.

    Hi CRYSSYBUG, I just discovered your sparkpage and since you started at about the same weight I was at, it was rewarding to see how close you are to your goal. If you can do it, I have hope. My problem is the lack of exercise, but as you say do it - if only for 10 minutes! Keep up the good work. We're all with you.
    I haven't got a spark page yet, but will be working on it.
