Cyn's Holding Steady

I just turned 40, and have lost 110 pounds. Due to a family crisis, I lost the last 18 very slowly, but reached my "goal" weight in December 2011. (I've considered myself to be essentially in maintenance since June 2011, though.) I have also been battling some serious health issues, and infertility... but so far, so good on keeping the weight off. I have a high-stress job (and life!), and maintenance is essentially a very time consuming second shift. But so far it has been worth the price ...

My Goals:
My primary goal is to maintain my 110 pound weight loss (or if that proves untenable, perhaps maintain at 10 pounds or so heavier). Secondary goals include increased cardio fitness and improvements in strength and flexibility.

My Program:
My primary cardio exercise is running, but I also do aerobic dance, and go for long walks and/or hiking. I have fallen away from regular strength training due to a family crisis, but am doing what I can to maintain my strength for now. Hope to get back to working out with a trainer soon -- I enjoy being able to lift really heavy things!

Personal Information:
Originally from Upstate New York; currently live in Washington, DC.

Bravo, Cyn!

ALso grew up in NY and then spent early part of career in DC. Family issues can create a multitude of problems, just had an 8 year detour due to just such issues. Now it's time to get back to paying attention to my own needs and wants.

I'm inspired by your story! Keep up the good work.

Wendy

Your page, and story is very inspiring to me. My dad had a stroke and my mom has been diagnosed with dimentia in the same week! I appreciate that you were able to maintain and even lose during such a hard time! It gives me hope.

Good morning! I'll be happy to share my pork roast recipe with you - it's a crockpot one and is so easy and delicious. The longest step of the recipe is browning the roast!

And I realized my post in the forum said pot roast when it really is a pork roast, haha.
