Hi

I'm mostly known as Nay I have been on a bit of a roller coaster ride on the past few years i moved to townsville with my husband since then I usually worked in retail.

About a year after I have to had 3 surgery's done to my knee 2 of them as just an knee arthoscopy and the last one being a cartliage implantation.. don't ask me how i did it.. its a bit embarrasing that I will never do again. which during that time have stopped my hubby and I plans of having a baby.. Since my knee is recovered this year there is a few things i can't do like stairs and cimb hills as it will just deteriate the knee.

Anyway I went to a gyno and I have been diagnosed with PCOS and just recently have got hyperthroidism.. which is really frustrating for me as it just seems to be one thing after the next. so while i wait to see the enco doctor

I have decided that I will lose weight which my help my cause, I am currently studying to be a graphic designer as I love being creative and also cooking..

my goal is to lose 20kg but I really just want to be a size 12 as I hate going shopping at the moment I find it really depressing.. I am also a chocaholic i simply can't help myself ha ha and so that is my story :-)

emoticon emoticon emoticon WELCOME TO SPARK!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a healthier one by joining the site and you will thank your sister in-law as well!

Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.

A few things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.

2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

4. Log everything that you eat on the site! You can use the meal plans that Spark People provides or at least you can use them as a guide for what you should eat each day to be healthy.

5. Move! Walk the dog or a neighbors' dog. Walk for at least a mile each day just to get your body moving. You can map your route under the Fitness tracker so you can learn how far you have walked and how many calories you burned. There are also a ton of free exercise videos on here that you can use to move your body under the Healthy Lifestyle tab.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

Hi and Welcome to Sparkies Down Under..

On the Start Page you will find all the information on how to set up your Spark page.
We recommend that you do this, as it is the basis of this very special journey with us to health and fitness.

Our Team Leaders have all made this Journey and have learned so much, we are still learning as we go on.

We are vibrant team who love our healthy Eating and doing lots of Exercise .
We have lots of interesting and helpful Challenges going on, and the reasons for these are 3 fold .

1) We need to count our Calories!!!. It is only by counting and keeping within our calorie range that Sparkpeople set for us, that we will lose weight and feel so much better.

2) We need to drink Water!!!. We need to drink at the very least 8 full glasses a day, this will prevent dehydration, and also help to stop us feeling hungry ..
Our brains and other organs in our bodies need water or they will shrivel up and cause so many medical problems .

3) We need to Exercise!!!. We need to keep our bodies mobile and fit.
Without exercising our bodies, muscles will die and we will suffer arthritis and other ailments.

We have fun Challenges too, to tax your brain and keep it active ..
Above all, Our mission is lead a Healthy and Fit life, free from Pain and Illness.

Susie
