I am from Des Moines, Iowa. I have been doing this for awhile. Just keep recycling the same ole pounds each year. Nothing changes. Now that is insanity. Why keep doing this. Get committed instead of interested in losing weight. Seems like I do good and then my brain gets in the way and I fail and give up. Sometimes I think, oh what the heck eat what you want and then when something special comes up I have to go to then I don't want to go so people see how I look and it is totally up to me to change that. No one else can do that for me. I have to want to. I really want to now and quit doing this. I know this has to be a life time commitment. There is that word again. "COMMITTMENT!". I can still eat what I want, I just have to realize it has to be in moderation and to exercise. I don't want to be an old weak person. I want to have spunk and get around being active. Onward and upward is the only way!!! Keep staying in SPARK for all the encouragement by reading successes...with the program...

My Goals:
Tired of being fat and want to get back to the way I was before and want to be healthy and live a long live being active.


My Program:
Writing down everything works the best for me and I have found a walking buddy at work and we go every morning. It just keeps you so motivated all day long when you excercise in the a.m.



Personal Information:
I am from DSM, IA. It is great to have the skywalk system to walk in because it takes away all our excuses for not to walk. I like to do crafts of any kind. It is fun to give home made gifts to people. I work full-time and have 2 grandsons who are 19 & 14. I like to cook and try new recipes to keep things from being boring.


Other Information:
As I get older I just start to sit and wonder about things and take time to enjoy the beauty that is around us and be grateful for every day that I wake up to be given another chance to make a difference for myself or someone.

    To stay on track during Thanksgiving, I plan to watch serving sizes more carefully, and to make sure to get in some exercise time. I am trying to include more healthy choices on the menu.

    Thanks for your Spotlight comments. ROFL laughing at wearing my fat pants on Thanksgiving Day. Not to worry. I am alone and don't have the energy to fix a full spread. What I could use a warning on though is watch what I buy when I get groceries. My mind had been considering unhealthy "treats". I don't do Thanksgiving as a single meal now but as a week long celebration, slipping in goodies when I have the energy to fix them. Overall I spread out the calories with less damage that way - as long as I don't go overboard at the grocery store and only get the fixings for one dessert!
