I am turning 60 in August, but I am NOT slowing down!

I am a principal of a large school for children of military members, mother, and grandmother to seven funny, smart and brilliant grandkids. Recently, my husband went home to Jesus, and I am adjusting to being a widow. I loved being a wife, and this has been hard on me.

I love walking and biking all over Germany, and the surrounding countries. I love to travel, and am blessed to be able to do it at this season of my life. Another passion I have is baking for my co-workers and friends.

My God continues to be my source of strength, peace and everlasting joy. He is my gracious, redeemer, my friend and my enduring, wise counselor. Without Him I am nothing. He gives me purpose to my life. I am a SOLD out, unashamed conservative Christian called to work in a school setting.

I am excited about what God has planned for me, and thankful that He loves me so much.

You are so inspirational! I'm 54 and have been married for 34 years and I love being a wife too.

Have you always been into cycling? I love to bike also and I even have a friend that rides on trips like you do. Someday I would like to add cycling to my adventures too.

The Lord is also my friend and loving guide.

God Bless You!

Glad to see you are adapting to your new life...living alone is definitely different after being so close to somebody for so long and then losing their love and support. My life has been very full, also, but not so much like yours. I have been pulled in 4 different directions over the past couple of years, especially, trying to be of help to friends and family who are dealing with health problems, surgeries, births and deaths. I surely don't have much time to dwell on my own problems, but maybe that's a good thing.

I will turn 60 this month also and am back on track with my weight loss...not back to where I was yet, but getting there slowly but surely. I won't give up! I kind of lost my way with everything going on, but after praying about it, I feel more in control than ever and hope this time I can keep on track and not let life derail me again.

Take care!

Hi Sandy
I am just returning to SP and I read over a few of your blogs. Let me just say how sorry I am for your loss.
I just lost both my parents this year and have been dealing with grief, but I am ready to work on myself and my goals again.
Your journey is so encouraging to me.
