My Goals:
Starting weight: 224

My weight goals:

1st - get below 200 - DONE!
2nd - get to 180
3rd - get to 150

My other goal is to ultimately get my diabetes under control with diet and exercise, as much as possible, and get off my medications completely.

My Program:
I don't follow one specific type of diet, I choose to avoid processed foods, fast foods, sodas, etc. The foods I eat are whole foods, natural and fresh. I also follow a low-carb diet. I avoid grains and sugars as much as possible most of the time since those tend to cause my blood sugar to spike.

I guess you could say that I'm more of a Paleo/whole/clean food eater with a dash of Trim Healthy Mama thrown in.

I avoid processed/prepackaged food as much as possible and go with real food.

I go to the gym before work almost every weekday and usually focus on the weight machines. I alternate between upper body machines one day and lower body machines the next. I often stop at the gym on my way home and walk on the treadmill, then reward myself with the hydromassage bed and/or the total body therapy machine.

"The purpose of life is to matter, to count, to stand for something; to have it make some difference that we lived at all."--Leo Rosten

If the only way to make life worth living is to make every day count for something truly special, why do so many people allow so many days to slip slide away, inadvertently permitting the best of times to pass them by as well? Good question; yet the answers are never so easy.

More likely than not, they don't see themselves as a person who comes out on top; a winner who deserves to live life to its fullest. Yet that is precisely what our Creator made each and every one of us to be. A winner worthy of enjoying the greatest treasures life offers up daily. None of us, not even one of us, is incapable of coming out on top.

But we need to face the music here; the only way we're going to make our lives everything we have ever imagined they could be and should be is to stop counting those days as they pass us by and instead start making the days count — right here and right now. We need them to count for something super extraordinary, something super sensational and something that words alone can never express.

Time after time, the only difference between living your life the way it was meant to be lived and living a life that consistently comes up short is whether or not you really made a difference. So why not make that big difference by making a difference in the way you utilize your days, starting right now?

To the people who love you,
you are beautiful already.
This is not because they're
blind to your shortcomings
but because they so clearly see your soul.

Good afternoon on this wintry Tuesday....it is where I live. The typical Northern, winter weather--no sun, grey sky, everything covered with ice, and cold. Fortunately, it's not below zero and there isn't a blizzard.

I am thinking about getting a scale today. Noticed that my clothes are a little looser. So this is giving me an incentive to buy that scale. And to keep pushing me forward.

Today is the 10th day of 100 days to getting healthier. I have been continuously moving around a lot more. Because of the icy conditions here during the winter, I am doing the Leslie Sansome walking DVD's, as well as dancing. This is the kind of exercises I can stick with, as well as have fun doing them and sing. Plus I get to laugh at myself too.

Yesterday I was in a lot of pain! Oh, the three herniated discs in my back were sending shocks down my arms and legs. I could not sleep all night. Now I feel like a zombie. Oh, I would like to crawl back into bed. But I am making progress on deep cleaning my house, so I am going to keep cleaning/organizing just at a slower pace. If I walk away, it will not be touched.

I am working hard to eat more vegetables. I eat chicken and fish two-three days per week, and lots of vegetables everyday. My stomach is much better now that I have cut out the coffee. My morning beverage is green tea. Making home-made soups have helped me feel fuller. Plus, the soups have taken away much of my cravings for sweets.

Being busy around the house, deep cleaning and re-organizing has taken my mind off of food. It feels so good to not be nibbling on this and that, only to feel guilty of over eating, as well as seeing the scale go up another pound or two. Taking pictures of my house before and after have helped me feel very pleased with the house. And, it is so good not to hear from name being called because my husband or children cannot find something. Now they can--that sure makes me feel the rewards of organizing.

Wow, this is a long note....I will close now, "HAPPY TUESDAY".
