I want to have a healthy active life. I am tired of sitting on the couch and watching life. I am going to live it! I am unemployed right now, due to a HUGE layoff at my company. Sadly, that was my health downfall, I went over the edge on the scale. I got depressed, laid on the couch, ate a lot of ice cream and pizza etc. I decided to get my act together and take control of what I was eating. So, I am going to focus on eating right and develop a solid exercise routine. I told myself, you have NO EXCUSE NOT TOO EXERCISE, SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE A JOB TO GO TO....you got the time.
I joined SP for the support in my goal of a healthy fit body. I like the accountability of the food diary and exercise journal. The people on SP are fantastic. I found that while I may not have a work out buddy in my house; my SP friends keep me motivated. When I want to stay in PJ land, they push me to get into my workout clothes :-) and sweat. My favorite workouts to date are DVD's by Billy Blanks and Jillian Micheals. I am slowly converting to a Cathe Friedrich Fan. So far, I have her workouts: Kick Punch and Crunch, Core Max, Drill Max, Kick Max and Butts and Guts. I am too afraid to go to a gym, and being unemployed, well that's an expense that I can not afford. Monies for mortgage payment, kitty and people food come first.
This spring, I decided to join the Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Boot camp team in order to get that BOOST of nerve to wear a bathing suit this summer. I am the girl that always wears shorts and t-shirt over the bathing suit. I was also inspired after I read Coach Nicole's blog about her own insecurities. I recently read an article on spark regarding people's unrealistic weight loss goals. I know that I have A LOT of weight to loose (to be fit) and don't expect it all to melt away magically. However, I still have a large weight loss goal, but I will strive to reach the final goal via mini ones. While I don't like the number that I see on the scale right now, I am also keeping track of what the tape measure shows.
I wanted to take the time to make an update to my information. At the beginning on my journey, I wore a tight size 18 blue jeans, and they were a tad tight. Now, I can wear a fitted size 8 or loose 10s. I have lost 2 inches in the chest, 3 inches in the natural waist, 3.75 inches around my belly button region, 2.5 inches in high hip and 3 inches in the low hip (butt region) and two inches in my thighs. I am on track to reach my goal!!!
I want to be able to fit into my "skinny" jeans. When I fit into them, I will throw them out and buy new ones!
I want be healthy, toned and strong. I don't want to be the pretty fat girl!
I am working on my negative self talk and self-confidence.
I like to mix up my routine. I love to push myself.
I use Billy Blanks Tae Bo workouts, Cathe Friedrich, and Leslie Sansone DVD's.
I have completed the STS and P90X programs. I saw amazing results from both. However, I am starting over.
I am originally born and raised in GA; but now I live in North Carolina. I lived in Northern NJ for four years, just shy of the Manhattan skyline. After being laid off, I moved back to NC in 2008.
I started this process in 2007 and gained it all back & then some! So, I started over in 2009. By 2011, I was fit and healthy! In 2012, I was focused on toning up. Sadly, I fell off the wagon, in 2013 and now starting all over in 2014.
