Taking a load off...
I'm a bit of a weirdo here at SparkPeople. Most members here seem to be obsessed with calorie count or fat content. I come from more of a low-carb, Paleo or primal, Weston-Price-influenced point of view. I'm a bit of a weirdo here at SparkPeople. Most members here seem to be obsessed with calorie count or fat content. I come from more of a low-carb, Paleo or primal, Weston-Price-influenced point of view. While fat gain can be blamed on excess energy storage, calorie theory doesn't explain WHY excess energy stays in storage or how to get it out without also sacrificing lean mass and while avoiding unnecessary hunger. Those of you who run 5 miles a day and go around starving (or starving 30 minutes after you've eaten and pooped out all that fiber) know exactly what I'm talking about. If you can't lose the fat while sitting around on your rear end all day, it's probably not a sustainable way of eating (in the health and satiety sense). I don't take comments anymore, mostly because I don't look at my page often enough to do the comments any justice. If you really feel you have to say something, you can try email. I mostly log in to enter my weekly weigh-ins, though I want to get back to food tracking too. I've been slacking way too much. When you low-carb properly, with real food and everything, you *have* to cook or you won't have anything to eat. Unfortunately, no one out there makes easy low-carb pre-prepared dinners that I would both want and be able to afford. Thus I keep falling on my face. It's all a matter of setting good priorities...
