I apologize but I was reading someone else's comment on your SparkPage where he said "carbs are our enemy). I don't like to dispute someone; however, without carbs you would have no energy. Carbs have to be taken in in moderation. Take a look at SparkPeople's nutrition tracker. You will see they recommend carbs according to the information you put into the tracker.

Back to at hand, I want to welcome you again. Also, I have added you as a friend and hope you consider me the same way by adding me as your friend.

Here is a easy and good ice cream.. One that you can control the carbs and calories. (Carbs are our enemy)

In a blender 8 oz. of Silk Regular Soy Milk 60 cal. 5 carbs and 3g of sugar for those 8 oz
1/2 c Blueberries.
taste add a little artificial sugar if you want it sweeter.
add ice to blender and it will freeze up and POW you have Ice Cream. can be made with any flavors. I love Silk Soy Milk emoticon

I thought I would drop by and try to encourage you a little bit more. :)

Cutting out sweets is a good plan, but remember not to deprive yourself. Moderation is the key to getting healthy. Eat moderately, exercise moderately. If you start out exercising an hour a day you'll give up within a couple of weeks. When I started, this is embarassing to admit, when I started, I hula-hooped for 10 minutes a day....Not exactly athlete material, huh.

I've been involved in spark for about 2 years now and it's been an up-down journey, I'm now on my 4th (?) spark account, because I feel a need to restart every now and again and that's okay. But I'm happy to say that I haven't totally regressed. I'm 20lbs lighter than when I started spark, even with various setbacks. I can call myself a runner now, I run 5k 3 times a week. All that started 2 years ago from hula-hooping 10 minutes a day. And you can do the same thing, just stick it out and make small changes one a time, don't try to change everything and don't try to cut out all the things you like, just itsy bitsy baby steps and the next thing you know you look back and wonder how you got so far.

emoticon Greetings and emoticon - I'm really glad you've joined us!! Right now is a great time to get active with SparkPeople - it's a great community, wonderful resources and fantastic support- it's also lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together.

Sometimes the best way to start is to just pick a small goal such as drinking 8 glasses of water a day or eating 5 fruits and veggies plus a small exercise goal such as increasing whatever you've been doing by 10%. There's a great article explaining how one or two changes can lead to long-term success - you can read the article at http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?p
ost=one_healthy_change_leads_to_another . I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized here instead of a 'quick fix wonder diet' and another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I have - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!
