I'm the same Dan O'Dea who used to be dan_odea in Sparkpeople. Turns out the only way to change that basic information was to drop my previous account and create a new one. I'm going to reconnect to my friends from back then. I also lost all 22,000 SparkPoints and my dream home (took several months to earn that); bummer.
I let my job at IBM run my life, and consequently gained 15 pounds (no exercise). My first goal is to lose that; then I'll reset to try and reach 190. The recommended goal, 164 pounds, is probably impossible; I've never weighed that.
My exercise program is the same as before: the cardiac rehab diet and exercise program from St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. Before it got me from 215 to 190; let's see if it works again.
I'm on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Blogs (all as danodea). "Follow me, follow me. That's good, that's good! A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat...".
My interests are wide and deep. Anything science is on the list, as are music, philosophical topics, how the mind works, history, and politics. I'm an amateur paleontologist, have published some writing, volunteer for my town and a state park... the list goes on. If it exists I'm probably interested in it.

I hit RESET on my weight, nutrition, and fitness goals. Unemployment sucks, but it's a good opportunity to reset what I want to do, possible career change (it's about time I did what I want to do rather than what I think I have to do), and revisit what it takes to be healthy, including my relationships. The key is remaining balanced... not like last time.
Not "I think I can", but "I can!"
