The primary intention is feeling good

I've decided to stop focusing on weight loss as a goal, and am now seeking out things that make me feel good.

A little history ... I first joined Sparkpeople in 2008. At this point, I had lost a fair amount of weight after having lapband surgery in September 2007. I continued to lose weight with the band, and in December 2008 had plastic surgery -- tummy tuck and breast lift.

But the band caused me a lot of problems, and eventually got to the point where I couldn't ...

But the band caused me a lot of problems, and eventually got to the point where I couldn't reliably keep any kind of food down, so I had it removed in June of 2013. By that point I had pretty much gained back all the weight I lost with it.

I know that the traditional methods of weight loss -- food tracking, exercise tracking, weigh ins, etc., do not work for me. All of that tracking wakes up my inner perfectionist, and that perfectionist makes me give up when things don't go exactly right. So I no longer weigh myself or write down everything I eat. I focus on what feels good. Weigh ins definitely do not.
