I'm Duane and I'm going to lose weight. Period. Everything depends on attitude and I've changed mine. I'm moving in a positive direction and becoming a better, happier and healthier person each day.
In December 2008, I weighed 390 pounds. I ate typical American food in large amounts and way too much fast food. I used to joke that I was allergic to vegetables.

I switched to a vegan diet. I now try to eat vegan all but one meal a week. I'm eating real, healthy food that looks like food, tastes like (awesome) food and does great things for me. I've lost a lot of weight, but even before I had, my energy level changed dramatically by changing my diet. I'm feeling so much healthier and I love it. I'm on my way. If a guy who got his vegetables from the ketchup on his double-whopper can change, why can't you?

My Goals:
I want to end each year healthier than the previous year. I want to be healthy and fit and able to DO things! I'd love to become a runner and take up martial arts.

I will run 3 consecutive 10 minute miles before the end of 2011.

My Program:
- I eat vegan for all but one meal a week.
- I track my calories, this keeps me accountable.
- There is no fail. There may be setbacks, but they will all be overcome.
- When you are getting healthier and fitter, time is actually on your side.

ail.asp?recipe=1170260) every morning ensures that I am getting a fantastic start to each day. But, there are tons of great vegan choices, do what works for you.
- Be active. Whatever you enjoy and will keep doing is great. Otherwise, move on to something else, just stay active!
