Out of Hiding

I've been struggling with food now for 5 years. From 18-23 I've gone from anorexic to a binge eater, now consuming 5,000 a day more than 3x a week. I've lost the last 4 years of my life to food. I've turned away from all my friends and only have my aging mother and have essentially created a life of isolation. Now that I've graduated, got a full-time job, and moved to NYC, I was hoping things would change. But nothing has, and the habits have gotten tremendously worse. I try to pick myself up ...
I've been struggling with food now for 5 years. From 18-23 I've gone from anorexic to a binge eater, now consuming 5,000 a day more than 3x a week. I've lost the last 4 years of my life to food. I've turned away from all my friends and only have my aging mother and have essentially created a life of isolation. Now that I've graduated, got a full-time job, and moved to NYC, I was hoping things would change. But nothing has, and the habits have gotten tremendously worse. I try to pick myself up every week, but it's been 5 years and well, obviously I'm not doing something right.

I want to have a life so bad, I want someone to love me, but as long as my first love is food, I will spend the NEXT 5 years alone, as well.

Controlling food is much more than a diet/exercise issue for me - it's been my best friend for years and I have a hard time letting go.

I need tremendous support, and hopefully some new friendships - I think a solid, supportive network is KEY to succeeding in this and the key ingredient I sorely lack. I hope spark can play a part in filling that void.

Just stopping by for a little encouragement. I know every time i say i'm back, i'm not, so I figured you could use a little boost. I'm doing well though, i've joined crossfit and eat a paleo diet now because of it so i dont track food or exercise here, but i stop in every once in a while to check things out. Hope you're doing well, girl. emoticon
