This is me when I weighed well over 300 pounds. I have lost 86 pounds since then.
This is a full body picture. I am 5' 11" and was well over 300 pounds in this picture.
I am a woman who has spent most of my life pursuing the dream of singing professionally. I've had many wonderful experiences, enjoyed some amazing opportunities, but blew many of my chances by my inability to quell my desires to over-indulge. With every passing year, I'm more and more aware of how important it is to take care of myself, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I love God and Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I sing His praises and worship with His people. I'm growing spiritually. I've done the yo-yo thing again. I had been only 50 pounds from my goal. Now I'm back up and have 92 pounds to lose. I'm praying this site will help!
I put back a lot of the weight I'd lost - so I'm eager to get it off again. I got the Activity Tracker, and it's funny how it encourages me to walk farther than I'd planned! I need to lose at least 92 pounds - maybe more. My goal right now is to keep walking and start eating healthy again!
My main focus here will be to keep better track of my efforts and to gain support - and perhaps inspire others. I am determined to lose weight without eating bland, boring foods. I am cutting out most all processed foods and I'm starting to fix my own meals again from fresh foods. I plan to eat lots of vegetables and fruit and only lean meats - but, I'll make my meals colorful, tasty and nutrient dense. I've gotten off track in the last year - and I'm hoping being here again will get me going in the right direction again.
I was born and raised in Southern California, so I believe I can officially count myself as a Southerner! I am a singer and in my heart of hearts, I would love to be singing full time. I've worked professionally, have my Actor's Equity Card (earned on Broadway in 1983) and as I lose weight and gain in energy and strength I hope to begin auditioning again in ernest. I am also a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.
I love Jesus, my mom, my siblings, my niece and nephews, music, books, travel, Hawaii, cruising and making people laugh or smile. I have been technically unemployed since January of 2009 when I was let go in a company-wide down-sizing at Scholastic, Inc. I am self employed - and am still on the look out for a "real" job. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the freedom of working from home!
