On my 50th birthday I weighed 460+ & was in a wheel chair because I couldn't support my own body. After my doctor said "LOSE WEIGHT OR DIE", I joined SparkPeople in May 2009 & started water aerobics in earnest. It's been an up & down battle. The scale is not my friend. It's so hard to lose 5 pounds and so easy to GAIN 40. It's been a great 6 years. I still have a LONG way to go but am down well over 150 pounds & teach water aerobics & ...

My Goals:
My long term goal is to reach my goal wt of 185. Ultimately, my goal is to be the healthiest and happiest that I can be & to continue to be an active member of the YMCA Aquatic staff. I teach water aerobics & swim lessons!

My Program:
Use portion control. Use the SP fitness & food trackers daily. Do at least 60 mins cardio, 30 mins strength training & chair march 10,000 steps daily! Stay active on SP finding & sharing motivation. Stay honest & positive while letting go of shame.

Personal Information:
My name is Dawn & I live in Martinsville VA.
I am involved in 2 awesome private Spark Teams that help me with my program. The 1st team is called: FRIENDly Persuasion: a safe haven for friends The 2nd team is called: The Path to Freedom--Loving Ourselves Healthy BOTH teams are "friendship" teams. The 1st provides a stress-free environment for loving, inspiring & supporting one another. The 2nd is similar but geared towards people that HAVE or NEED to lose 200 lbs or more. just peeking back to see how you are doing. You have always been such an inspiration...love reading your blogs and seeing the progress you have made. Now I need to start using it as just that, an inspiration and not beating myself up over how in all the times back, I lose and gain lose and gain..making me right back where I started from so long ago. I know it is not going to be easy to get back on target again but really want to make this the one that sticks. One day...or half day if what it takes ...at a time. Thank you for your posts...your blogs are wonderful..and enjoy going back and reading them from the beginning. Wonderful to see how far you have come! Keep up the good work. emoticon
