On my 50th birthday I weighed 460+ & was in a wheel chair because I couldn't support my own body. After my doctor said "LOSE WEIGHT OR DIE", I joined SparkPeople in May 2009 & started water aerobics in earnest. It's been an up & down battle. The scale is not my friend. It's so hard to lose 5 pounds and so easy to GAIN 40. It's been a great 6 years. I still have a LONG way to go but am down well over 150 pounds & teach water aerobics & ...

My Goals:
My long term goal is to reach my goal wt of 185. Ultimately, my goal is to be the healthiest and happiest that I can be & to continue to be an active member of the YMCA Aquatic staff. I teach water aerobics & swim lessons!

My Program:
Use portion control. Use the SP fitness & food trackers daily. Do at least 60 mins cardio, 30 mins strength training & chair march 10,000 steps daily! Stay active on SP finding & sharing motivation. Stay honest & positive while letting go of shame.

Personal Information:
My name is Dawn & I live in Martinsville VA.
I am involved in 2 awesome private Spark Teams that help me with my program. The 1st team is called: FRIENDly Persuasion: a safe haven for friends The 2nd team is called: The Path to Freedom--Loving Ourselves Healthy BOTH teams are "friendship" teams. The 1st provides a stress-free environment for loving, inspiring & supporting one another. The 2nd is similar but geared towards people that HAVE or NEED to lose 200 lbs or more.
