2011 - New Year, New Goals

When I first discovered a love for running I was 48. I'm turning 51 this year and will run my first Half Marathon. I started running because I noticed that runners were usually lean. Now I run not only to control my weight but because it's my time. It's when I work out problems, find solutions to roadblocks, let go of stress and think of new ideas or discover new feelings. After my runs, I feel strong & confident; like I can take on the world! I am so proud of myself for discovering the runner ...

After my runs, I feel strong & confident; like I can take on the world! I am so proud of myself for discovering the runner in me at this stage of my life. For 2011, I will run my first HM and my goal is to stay injury free for the entire year. To accomplish that I will need to focus on stretching and strength training as much as running. My first HM is in May...it's February and I already have butterflies just thinking about it!

My Goals:
To have more energy, feel younger, stronger, healthier and be more confident

My Program:
I am eating ALOT of fruits.
Oatmeal with raisens and protien powder for breakfast, lunch is a salad with turkey or chicken & 2 tblsp of low fat dressing. Dinner is venison, veggies and half a cup of white rice. Snacks are banana, lots of grapes, peaches, plums and 97% fat free popcorn. I am running 20-25 miles a week and strength training classes are twice a week. I am cross training on my non-run days with 35 minutes of biking at the gym.

Personal Information:
I was a kid in Akron Ohio, moved to Phx, AZ in 6th grade, then to ID in my early 20's. I have 2 beautiful sons that I don't see often enough. They are both married to beautiful women who I adore. The light of my life is Brody, Marlee and Linkin. My adorable Grandchildren. I am happily married and love hunting and fishing with my husband.

Other Information:
Rain & sun are to the flower as praise and encouragement are to the human spirit.
