I have to say, 2016 was an interesting year. I started off by getting back on here and really making it work for me. I made some wonderful friends along the way and I am so happy for that. The friends I have made on here is what has kept me going and helped me reach one of my two goals last year. I didn't get to run my marathon due to my knee injury but I did lose my 15 pounds. But, the last week of the year I gained back 3 of those pounds. So hard to lose weight and maintain that during the holidays! But, I still feel like I did well.

This year I have started off okay but with a little bump in the road. I have what is known as Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is not very common and somewhat rare, so this is why most who are reading this have not heard of it. In a nutshell, it causes intense facial pain with doing such minor and everyday things like brushing ones teeth, eating, swallowing or just touching that side of my face. Even walking can hurt it because of the vibration that travels up. A person who does not have it never realizes that occurs, the vibration. But if you have pain from it, you realize it. So that has kept me from doing my usual exercising. When walking I walk softly to not irritate it. I am on medication to help control it but that is becoming increasing useless.

My goals still this year are to run the marathon and lose 15 pounds. If I lose this 15 I will have gotten to my ultimate goal. Then it will be work to stay there. I hope by mid year I can start training again, but, we will see.

Thanks to my Spark friends, I met one goal last year and I hope to again this year. I think 2017 will be my year!! I have hope that it will.

emoticon Yes, I am pretty sure that is the same machine the PT use. That is amazing your insurance covered it...must have excellent coverage on yours! Mine doesn't even cover Chiropractic adjustments, which most insurances do! I appreciate your nice comment! Have a great weekend! Hope your knee is doing better! These injuries sure can take their time to heal, can't they? emoticon

Really appreciate your stopping by to check on me and to encourage me on the 5 pounds! I am really trying harder to eat less and drink more water! The whey protein I took I think is helping me lose more...use it as a meal replacement. It is Muscletech Phase 8, bought it at Walmart for $25. It helps you have energy for 8 really works!!
I am glad we are friends on here too!! We are in this together!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hiya! Thanks for visiting. Have been a bit preoccupied for the last few days. DIL has been in hospital and I've been busy with the kids. She - Kelly, DIL - had open heart surgery 12ish months ago - you may know that, forgive me repeating it if so - and although she made a remarkable recovery she has recently had some symptoms that alarmed us all. However she went in for some tests and it turns out that it's a nasty chest infection but nothing more. PHEW! Easy to misinterpret but better safe than sorry - obviously. Other than that - everything is fine here and I hope the same for you.
I wish you a good and happy Thanksgiving with plenty of family fun.
