I have to say, 2016 was an interesting year. I started off by getting back on here and really making it work for me. I made some wonderful friends along the way and I am so happy for that. The friends I have made on here is what has kept me going and helped me reach one of my two goals last year. I didn't get to run my marathon due to my knee injury but I did lose my 15 pounds. But, the last week of the year I gained back 3 of those pounds. So hard to lose weight and maintain that during the holidays! But, I still feel like I did well.

This year I have started off okay but with a little bump in the road. I have what is known as Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is not very common and somewhat rare, so this is why most who are reading this have not heard of it. In a nutshell, it causes intense facial pain with doing such minor and everyday things like brushing ones teeth, eating, swallowing or just touching that side of my face. Even walking can hurt it because of the vibration that travels up. A person who does not have it never realizes that occurs, the vibration. But if you have pain from it, you realize it. So that has kept me from doing my usual exercising. When walking I walk softly to not irritate it. I am on medication to help control it but that is becoming increasing useless.

My goals still this year are to run the marathon and lose 15 pounds. If I lose this 15 I will have gotten to my ultimate goal. Then it will be work to stay there. I hope by mid year I can start training again, but, we will see.

Thanks to my Spark friends, I met one goal last year and I hope to again this year. I think 2017 will be my year!! I have hope that it will.

Goal 2: Run Hartford Marathon in October again


My Program:
Cardio: Running 5 times a week making increases to meet goals to run a marathon.

Eating: Min 8 glasses of water a day, making sure I have minimum of 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day.

    emoticon HEY! How're you doing? Feel bad that I've neglected you so much - I've been struggling here and almost everywhere else but I feel better and more optimistic now and hope to behave a bit more normally - HUH! Hear my friends in Brighton laughing at that - 'normal' is not my middle name! As you know I'm really happy your procedure has helped you so much and that you're running again. Hope you can put your bad times behind you and take part in the marathon this year.

    I am doing great....thanks for asking. So happy to hear about how great you are feeling!! emoticon I have been taking that serrapeptase and it has really been helping my osteoarthritis...I actually was able to take stairs up last night and used both legs. My left knee is the worst and I have to favor it a lot, but was able to just keep it going up the stairs! I swear that is a miracle pill...even my sinuses are better, haven't had to use pain pills that much or antihistamines for my allergies! Amazing! It helps many ailments...it dissolves plaque, anything that is non living tissue in your body or calcium deposits, scar tissue.
    Really excited about this product! Going to order more this weekend off Amazon...called Doctor's Best, if you are interested. Yes, it is blistering hot down here now, so our evening walks are better, but still hot.

    Hope your weather is better soon and you can get outside - today we've had sunshine followed by snow (!!) and now the sun's out again. Bizarre huh? Happy to hear you're well enough to fret about not exercising outdoors.
