Hi! Welcome to my page. I am updating my Spark Page, since I haven't done so in almost three years. I originally started my Spark People journey on April 13, 2011. It is now April 3, 2014. I am just coming back from a five month hiatus. I've had a rough time since October of 2014. Among other things I lost my wonderful Dad in January of this year. That has hit me hard and grief has made life difficult.

Update: September 18,2016

During the summer of 2015 I regained the 20 pounds that I lost and gained another 25 more. Thanks to medication changes I have had a really rough time. I have that all straightened out now and have regrouped losing 20 pounds this summer. That leaves 25 pounds to lose to get to my goal of 118 -120. I am starting this new push at 145 pounds. I have joined the 5% Challenge to try to help lose that 25 pounds. If I am successful, then I will be that much closer to my goal weight. I should say that I was at goal weight twice on this journey. This time the weight is coming off and I will keep it off. Adjusting my diet and exercise has helped me lose the 20 pounds that I have. I am ready to lose this pesky 25 pounds and maintain my weight at my goal weight before the end of 2016 if I can. Wish me luck. The third time is the charm. Thanks for stopping by my page. My Goals:
My goals are very simple. I want to lose 25 pounds to reach my goal weight. I want to exercise to become healthier and to be a good example for the rest of my family.


My Program:
I am in the process of reconnecting with my gym. It is only ten dollars a month, so it is very affordable. I had to take a sabbatical from the gym the summer of 2016. Micah was out of school, so that left me exercising at home with my Sparkpeople - Coach Nicole - DVD's. I have three, which have helped me dump 20 pounds during the summer. I am walking on the treadmill and working out on the elliptical. I am cutting out all sweets and have increased my fruit/veggie consumption. I will be tracking all my meals and exercise. I will be using my DVD's, as well as getting to the gym a minimum of three days a week. My goal is to do 120 minutes of exercise a week.



Personal Information:
My name is Deb Teveldahl, originally from Cascade Locks, Oregon I have moved to the southeast Portland area. I have two children. Sam is 33 and Jeni is 31. I have three grandsons now. Blaine 7, Hayden 18 months, Micah 5. I watch all my grand children when the need arises, but I live with my daughter. I help take care of Micah full time when he is out of school.


Other Information:
I enjoy reading, quilting, embroidery, and knitting. I am an avid reader. I've read the Spark. My favorite fiction authors are James Patterson and Tami Hoag. I enjoy camping, hiking and biking so I live in the right area.

    Thank you for your comment on my post. Those of us who have lost parents support you. The feeling of loss never has left me after many years but I recognize it and when sadness takes over I purposefully change my thoughts to fond memories with them. It warms my heart. Try it. Not dismissing the loss but I know they would not want me to be sad.

    Thanks for stopping by and commenting on the socks. When I was in Medford went to a local yarn shop and told the gal I wanted to knit socks. She gathered all I needed - the yarn, the needles (I called them my chopsticks - had such a hard time learning how to hold them) and instructions. I went home and just practiced and practiced.

    Here in Pendleton I knit with some "experts". And have learned so much from them - they are a great bunch of gals. And, have missed being with them during our snowy days.

    But, looks like it is warming up and the snow is starting to melt. So may actually get out today. Sure need to get to the grocery store.
