i am 57 years old and i have been on & off SparkPeople more times than i care to admit. i am back again to commit to getting fit & above all healthy! i have never been really thin...and don't expect to be...but i need to make some changes! i have high blood pressure and my doctor feels if i lose weight i can be off meds.

i love animals and i've trained & shown my dogs in obedience competitions...but they are retired now. i'm a 30+ year member of an obedience training club. i work full time as a doggie day camp counselor at a Camp Bow Wow franchise---and i LOVE it!...and i have a part time job at a veterinary clinic. Somewhere in between i am trying to sell my crafts!

i am an avid rubberstamper & scrapbooker. i enjoy ALL kinds of music (but my absolute FAVE is David Bowie) and i LOVE to dance! i like to paint & draw to keep sane...and hope to make a little extra $ from it now. i'm getting back into photography & finally reading again!

i belong to a wonderful Christian church---great people & awesome music!

i love the Jersey Shore...just don't get down there enough for me!

i enjoy walking...but i am one lazy lady! i come home from a very tough work day and all i want to do is nap! So motivation is quite an issue with me. That's where i am hoping SparkPeople comes in!

i like to cook and bake...and i try to use low fat/low salt ingredients when i can.

i am hoping to make new friends and finally achieve my goals!

My Goals:
1. add at least 1 more fruit & veggie to meals
2. make a better effort to MOVE---exercise!!!!!! i want to do at least 30 -45 minutes of activity per day and strength train 3 times a week.
3. get back to cooking---eat less prepared foods
4. set up a list of mini goals of weight loss and rewards for reaching them.

My Program:
i chose to try low fat/low salt eating with some exercise. i will do my best to add those elusive fruits & veggies to my diet! i am trying Leslie Sansone's DVDs, weight training @home (i have dumbbells) and i hope to walk outside more often!. And now i have a Wii...there should be nothing stopping me! i figure another nudge, push...okay SHOVE...can't hurt!
