I am a married mother of 3 amazing boys! For most of 2011 I was planning on starting a diet. I always had some excuse as to why I needed to wait a day, week, or month. I am a married mother of 3 amazing boys! For most of 2011 I was planning on starting a diet. I always had some excuse as to why I needed to wait a day, week, or month. Then one day I was sitting and reading a Parenting Magazine of all things. There was an article comparing weight of women and how women with children weigh at least 20lbs more than a non parent women of the same age. It listed off several reasons as to why and 2 of them really hit home. One was that you are always finishing their plates, because you don't want to waste it. This was true for me. (especially if we had gone out to eat) The second point (which hit home even more) was that mothers are always doing for others and rarely do something for themselves. The article went on to talk about how mothers should spend 20 minutes a day to do something for themselves. There were several suggestions on what you should do for yourself and exercising was one of them. It was that moment that I decided that I needed to start taking my 20 minutes a day. I got on the elliptical for 20 minutes and went grocery shopping for good food. Best decision I made last year. I lost 30lbs from October 2011 to December, but the holidays wound up being a stumbling block for me. Then I got involved with Sparkpeople and have gotten myself back on track!

~Update November 2012~
So for the past few months I have been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs, and have decided it has got to stop! The time is now!! I am back to tracking everyday and controling my chocolate intake. I will admit that I have become very lax in self control and have been just letting myself indulge. No more!
Just finished my 3rd 5k this year and got my best time 38:22! Hoping to do the same or better in a 5k this December.

~Update February 2013~
I'm back on track with everything!! Feeling great!! Beat my 5k time just last week... current time is 36:32!! My husband and I have joined a gym and he has started his own journey to be healthy. Glad to have a partner in this!!

Goal 1- Be 200 lbs by April 2012- Done April 22nd
Goal 2- Be 185 lbs by April 8, 2013
Reach Goal Weight by December 2013

My Program:
8 cups of water a day.
Keeping calories between 1200-1500 daily. Making breakfast the biggest meal of the day and dinner the smallest. Low carb after lunch.

I try to stay active everyday.
~ Intentional 30 min Cardio 5 times a week
~Strength training 3 times a week

I live in Kansas City, MO. I have been married for 7 years and have three wonderful boys! Christian is 6 yo, Cameron 4 yo, and Cayden is 2 yo.
